I rate AD in my F11. Active roll control is the 'star' part of AD.

Have you compared the F10 AD and the G30 with AD? To see how it is improved over the F10/11? Yet to try a G30/31 with AD to see for myself.

Damn you’ve really made me want AD!

If I remove Comfort Access & Comfort seats (but keep lumbar suuport) and add AD the car comes out slightly cheaper, hmmm.

Let us know what spec you end up getting. What a nice problem to have!

Thanks for the interest. Yes I suppose it is, it’s really difficult to resist all those expensive options though, you must have incredible will power!

I feel the G30 is already a nice... a really nice and well baked cake! The add-ons are just the cream and cherry on top.

But on a more serious note, I avoid most options because of cost and possible repair costs years down the road. To me less is more but that is me Bread and butter might be boring to some but it is tasty nevertheless

Definitely get AD if you want the car to corner without any roll but not sacrifice ride comfort. If you are going for a PCP deal maybe see if it adds too much to the monthlies before dismissing it.

Sorry for the thread hijack.
Well had a test drive of one some time ago, verdict: Expensive/ very poor RV, nice car though.
I was not keen on it to be honest, rare yes but awful wheels.
The M5 for me, I bought the F10 LCI M5 then, and as you know had two F80 M3's and now the F90 M5, love it.

Teason stick with the diesel on that mileage. Cooper Norwich are struggling for sales, use this to push hard IF buying new, BUT there are so many pre-reg good spec cars out there to be had. Good luck
PS) unless booting a lot AD not worth it IMO, I had it on mine and TBF was good but not many drive as I do.

The build quality on the X5 is definitely a few notches below the German builds in my experience.

Sorry Pete no. As always my comments on such matters are subjective. The cornering is definitely better than the test car we took out which had stock m sport suspension. It's also miles better than the f31 with adaptive suspension I had. Never tried an F1x with adaptive drive though....

Would like the Nappa leather but not sure it's a good idea with a dog on tha back seat. Dakota not as pretty but seems more robust.

Nice, how about the 12v sockets? I think without them there no sockets for the rear seats at all, it's only a £45 option.

That's why if I get nappa i'd get black, although I do prefer the cognac colour especially with the contrast black stitching.

I thought I'd do pro's lists for both the 5 series & X3, this is with both specced up to how I'd want them, it's looking more in favour of the 5, anything I've missed?

G30 530d xDrive M Sport

Pro's:
Lighter
Lower COG
Better fuel economy
Nicer interior/refinement/build-quality
Comfort seats
Saloon boot/trunk (for daily use)
Cheaper for winter wheels/tyres
Sleeker styling

X3 M40d

Pro's:
Faster straight line performance
More practical boot/trunk (family use)
Powered tailgate
Better off-road & wading depth
Higher seating position
Shorter

Come to think of it you'll get better bucket style support with the sport seats I think. I do like the comfort seats but if you wanna throw it around a little more then the sports seats may be win-win...

Really? I thought the comfort seats would hold you in just as well, as they have have the adjustable side bolsters etc.

The back bolsters are adjustable but not the bucket of the seat itself. It's definitely comfortable but others have mentioned somewhere on here as well that the sports seats hold you a bit better.
