What's up BMW family?

So about two months ago I purchased a 2017 BMW 540 M sport. One morning while going to work I wanted to test it out and see what was the top speed. To my shock, I was only able to reach 131 mph. I need to go faster!!!!! Can I code the Vmax in ESYS? And if I can, is it the very highest selection to remove the limiter? (327) or do I have to get a tune?

Thanks.

you need a flash tune to remove top speed limiter like Bootmod3

So, if you have all season tires, and not performance tires, your top speed is limited to 130-132 mph. You can change a tire setting in the settings menu on your I drive and it'll change the top speed to 155mph. That's the bmw factory limit. But I would highly recommend NOT doing that without changing the tires in case you blow a sidewall or something at high speed. (Very low chance, but this is my 100% clear way of saying don't do it, at your own risk)

If you tuned, you could remove that and go true Vmax of your car vs. the factory limit of it.

Well I'll try that first! I'm thinking about getting the tune but not right now. The tires are brand new and they are Z-Rated So I should have no issues. Thanks for the insight and the information.

If you're considering a tune, there are a lot of people selling their licenses in the FS section.

No, you need to tune the DME using a tool like Bootmod3, plus whatever additional tools may be needed to unlock the DME for flashing.

That car is hard coded from factory with whatever tire option you specd it with, changing the setting in idrive does not change the limit
