Do the MSport brakes ($650 option) dust much more than the standard 540i brakes? Several years ago I had an F30 with MSport brakes and they created crazy amounts of dust. At the time I wished I didn't opt for them. Advice?

I've only had M Sports brakes in the last couple of cars. So I can't compare vs non M Sport breaks. However, I've noticed my G30 M Sport breaks dust much less than my F32 did.

X3 M40i with M Sport brakes compared to 540i with standard brakes: the X3 has significantly more dust.

You can feel a performance difference in the brakes. More initial bite for example. That said the standard brakes are still very good. And look nicer.

You feel the standard brakes look nicer? Why?

I recall from the F3x days, BMW saying the MSport brakes are designed to reduce fade, not to reduce distance to stop. I also assume that statement is intentional (lawyer written) even if the MSport brakes also shorten stopping distance.
