Made Me Laugh
Of note: I roll an '18 M550i that I de-badged.
I was sitting in a left turn-pocket a few weeks ago, windows down, enjoying the remnants of summer weather. A "gentleman" pulled up in the adjacent lane and yelled across "I can still tell it's a 3-series!" The light turned green. I smiled. Then eased my "3-series" through the intersection. It's probably for the best that he was headed in a different direction... I just adore how "sleeper" the M550 is! |

It is crazy how large the 3 series is now, I get confused myself from time to time when I just get a glimpse of one thinking they're 5er's.

Once you get inside it´s easy to spot the difference in size (at least for me, I´m 6ft6 (202cm))

Similarly how large the g30 is. 20 years back I thought the e38 was a big car but here we are today where the g30 is near as dammit the same size.
Mind you the size of some of the suv particularly here in the U.K., the x6 just looks very big to me. |

I don't know if the 7 series shrunk or what -- but i have the same issue when I first see a 7 series from the front.. well the recent version before right before the grills got their "upgrade" that is..

I think they got it right with the pre LCI 7, much prefer it to the LCI.

I always thought the 7 was this huge monolith.
Now it seems all the cars have gotten big. Saw the newest 3 and the older E90 on the road yesterday - the new 3 looked portly by comparison (couldn't tell if it was a 5 or a 3 at first) |

I replaced my 750i (short) with the G30, and it's only about 3 inches shorter (based on garage space remaining).
My favorite BMW comment was when I was driving an old college buddy out to dinner one night in my new E34. She said, "you spent all of this money on a car, and you still have to shift?"

In the G30s I really appreciate the extra legroom between the brake and dead pedal. |

I probably couldn't tell the difference between a 3 and a 5 from the rear. The grilles give the different series away, though...
