G30 520i MY 2018. All fine for 5.5 years. Returned to car this afternoon 3 hours after navigating to location.

The Munich BMW headquarters splash screen shows with starting navigation. And unlike usual just sticks there showing no map.

No navigation or map functions at all.

Tried rebooting (long press on on/off switch) to no effect.

Disk function on media works

Running paid for OEM subscription map software 2023-1 for several weeks w/ o problem

No recent software / ista upgrades . In fact out of the blue.

Would be grateful for any insights. Thanks

EDIT 1. Held down on/off button for longer, reboot successful and map and rtti reloads but position is shown as the last place it was working.
So GPS signal not being received.

Weirdly accepts new position coordinates and new destination and then, without the car moving, the vehicle marker on the map starts driving the set route.

EDIT 2 Have checked the hidden service menu, the correct location (Lat and Long) is being reported with 255 Satellites and a 3D fix
But the map still shows the vehicle located elsewhere.

Do you think that it needs a short drive to get a proper fix?

EDIT 3 using the steps above plus a100 feet drive sorted it. The car cursor jumped to the correct location.
