Gonna go home and wash the car. Back in the garage, she goes. Not driving the BMW to work anymore. Too much pollen, dust (from construction), and jealous people. I'll just drive the BMW to Chicago once a week (drop my younger brother off at Depaul every Sunday) and on days I am off.

I got them on Amazon. The ones I saw on eBay were held on with double sided tape...the ones I got were a direct replacement and fit perfectly.

Got my tires road force balanced finally. I had Michelin PS AS4’s mounted in January and there was always a little high speed vibration both in the steering wheel and seat.
After a couple weeks had the installer rebalance, which they did, but they also showed flat spots on both rear wheels. Had those straightened and another rebalancing but there was still some vibration which I’ve lived with for about a month or so. So I took the car to a tire shop for road force balancing yesterday. After a couple hours and rotating a couple tires on the rims they were able to get all four below the magical 20 (lbs?) metric and some below 10. It drives nice and smooth now at 80mph. Ima happy camper.

In the 80’s , I used to change my oil over the sewer in the street and just drain into it. We were just stupid as a society back then.

Bit of maintenance / repair work this morning...
Fuel Pot/Door Assembly changed out on my 2018 540ix. I've seen it more recently online, where a few people reported that theirs would not shut... mine was the opposite and wouldn't open. Not ideal when you're running low on fuel 😆 Also added a bit of Golden Wrench bling with their Motorsport Blue Billet Cap!

Just given the G31 a wash & polish, thought I’d change it up & used the Autoglym shampoo & ultra deep shine polish, which is formulated for black/grey cars & now that CQM is now grey & not beige it worked even better
Will go dress the tyres & maybe add a coat of resin sealer in a while or first thing in the morning. There’s the BHP Show tomorrow, which is only around a twenty minute drive so I may pop along with a thermos of tea & some cucumber sandwiches https://bhpshows.com/ Edit: Just finished dressing the tyres, I also used it on the black interior & under bonnet plastics, comes up lovely & smells good too

I definitely have other products I’ll use from time to time on different surfaces, but it’s a pain on getting the leather stuff on the windshield etc and having grease on it. Smells great too. I do regularly use Duragloss Leather dressing on the seats as I like my ass to slide in and out to not beat the shit out of the leather. I originally bought P&S for the steering wheel, but ironically, I love warm water and dawn better for stripping the hand shine off and getting it soft again.

I haven’t tried water and soap for the steering wheel yet. I have pretty good success spraying some Chemical Guys leather cleaner onto a detail brush and getting it clean that way. Same with my wife’s Tartufo drivers seat. It gets shiny every 6 weeks or so.

I’ve been using SwissVax leather cleaner since I had my M3 years ago. Spray on, use the brush, then wipe it off with a towel. Leaves the seats and steering wheel leather like new. It’s kinda expensive but I like it.

Might try this too. Expensive is okay, I don’t clean the leather seats like that every time.
