G30 540i upgrade to stage 2

Hi,
I am considering the upgrade to stage 2.
What should I go for?
Catless downpipe, chargepipe, air filter, plugs, and tuning ?
After asking, I was informed that I need to upgrade these things.
What are the budget options.
Is bm3 the best in market?

Downpipe - can go catless or high flow catted. Catless will be cheaper

Spark plugs and coils are a good idea if they aren't fairly new

Chargepipe is not necessary, but I did it just to get rid of the plastic.

Intake- again, not necessary but does add a nice sound.

I don't have any experience with BM3, but I have been using MHD and have been extremely satisfied. The flashes are very fast and it's very easy to use.

Any idea what's the average cost for each!

Catless DP: $200-400
Catted DP: $400-$1000

Spark Plugs: $60-$100 for 6

Coil packs: I'm not sure, but I would guess about $50 each?

Charge pipe: $200-$1200

Intake: $200-$1000

Tune: $300-$600

BM3 is not the best, just one of many tunes. For your car you have MHD, BM3, ECUtek, and MG flasher. Before choosing a tune, do your research! Know what you want from your platform and who will be able to provide it the best. Also, if you are planning on getting a custom tune, find out what tuner you plan on going to and finding out what platform they like to tune with.

Look up Kern417 and NoClutch Garage on youtube. They have some really good info on the B58 platform. The B58 responds very well to octane so Ethanol and Meth will be your best friends.

You can also find Kern417 in the 4 series forums.

Bootmod3 + Downpipe (catless or high flow catted)

Nothing else is needed for stage 2.

You can also add the charge pipe for better reliability, but its not mandatory

I went with BM3, high flow catted downpipe (Evolution Racewerks $850.00) and BT cold air intake $200.00. I've been running this setup for about 3 months and I'm very pleased so far. Seem to have been well tested and safe.

Op,

Stage 2 is definitely the way to go. I'd recommended catless as the its the more budget friendly option and you don't have to worry about the cats failing in a few years time.

I think the ECU needs to be unlocked first and I don't know if they cracked the 22 yet. Check on the protuningfreaks or MHD website.
