Gen 1 G-Series B58 Flex Fuel Tune?

Does anyone know what companies have Flex Fuel Tunes that are compatible with Gen 1 G-series B58 engines? I'm looking for a flex fuel tune with ethanol sensor so I can put anywhere from ACN 91 to full E85 and not worry about it. I currently have BM3, but as far as I know, they only have the flex fuel tune available for F-series Gen 1 B58s. I know MHD is out there, but I'm not sure if the flex fuel tune is available for G-series either. I was patiently waiting for BM3 to release an update for G-series and for their plug and play sensor harness to come out, but they are taking forever.

Seems like the support for B58s are mainly for the 3 series and Supra crowd.

F-Series has been out for a few months now. I've been checking their website and IG for updates, but so far nothing.

Looks like BM3 updated their tunes so we now have Flex Fuel tunes available for the G30 chassis. The problem is that all the current ECA kits are only available for 1-4 series. 5-7 and X3/X4 are not available at this time.

So far I've seen kits from Dorch, BM3, and I think MHD. The other kits from Fuel-it and P3 only read the content of Ethanol, they don't connect to the CANBUS.

So I guess we will wait another few months for the kits to be G chassis compatible or they are in stock.

I contacted MHD and Dorch. The Dorch ECA kit for 5-7 series is available upon request only. MHD states they have kits for the OEM/TU pump and it will be about 2 weeks before they get supplies for the Dorch pump.

I would like to use the MHD ECA because its more plug and play, but they only provide instructions for 3/4 series B58. The black plug that the MHD ECA taps into might be in the same area, but I have not been able to confirm that it is the same plug.

The Dorch ECA has a little bit of pin work to do, but everyone that has done it says its a breeze. Their instructions are very detailed and they even e-mailed me instructions and pictures for the G30 install.

I'm waiting to hear back from MHD about the plug location. If I can't get it figured out, I'm going to go with the Dorch kit.

I prefer the Dorch or MDH ECA solutions because the sensor is placed right next to the HPFP vs BM3's solution that places it near the LPFP basket.

I installed the MHD flex fuel kit for my g30 this weekend. I was lucky enough to get a kit early and Bimerecu was amazing to work with.

Filled up to E33 yesterday and had zero issues so far.

Could you please give me some pointers on where to connect the black piggyback connector? Is it the black connecter that runs into the ECU that's not covered by the ECU cover?

Correct. Unlike the F series, it's not under the ECU cover.

Here is a picture with the g30 hose from Bimerecu.

I'm running this on a Dorch stage 2.

Perfect, thank you so much for this! I had a feeling that was the connector, but wasn't 100% sure.

I'll be looking to order up an MHD flue fuel kit soon too from Bimecu, only available in the US currently, no EU supplies yet

I ended up going with the Dorch ECA because MHD didn't have fuel lines available at the time and I was reading that the MHD ECA only really works with MHD and I'm running BM3.

Install was simple, not as plug and play as the MHD, but it was still very easy to install.

You're gonna love it man! If you run into any hiccups with the ECA install, hit me up.

Is the Dorch kit only compatible with 1-4 series?

I had originally looked at it, but didn't see 5 series compatibility.

I was already on MHD, so I was perfectly fine going with their kit, but would have considered the Dorch if it fit.

I am running the Dorch stage 2.

I had to email Dorch directly for the 5 series kit. The only difference are the fuel lines. You can actually use the MHD fuel lines for the Dorch kit as the Sensor itself is located in the same area.

I actually prefer the fuel lines from MHD because they are quick connect.

The reason why they don't advertise the 5 series kit is because they haven't verified in house how people are running the wiring through the firewall. Dorch sent me an email detailing where previous installers have been running the wire and it has worked perfectly for me so far.

As for ease of install, the MHD ECA is way easier. The only thing that held me back from the MHD ECA is the fact that it is proprietary to MHD and would be incompatible with BM3.

Thanks for the info!!

Yeah, definitely sounds more complicated than the MHD install.

The quick connect fittings are made at Precision Raceworks, so you could possibly get some. They are awesome!
