Question G30 LCI 2021 (B57D30O0) - Rough Idle & Vibration Issue – Any Ideas?

Hello everyone,

I own a 2021 G30 LCI with the B57D30O0 engine, currently at 86k km / 53k miles. For the past year, I’ve been dealing with a sporadic issue where the engine runs rough while idling. I’ve captured this in a couple of videos (links below). During these episodes, the rev counter fluctuates slightly, and the engine shakes noticeably.

Despite numerous trips to my local BMW dealership, they haven’t been able to pinpoint the cause. At one point, they replaced the EGR valve, but the problem persisted.

Lately, another issue has cropped up – I’m noticing a vibration in the floor and front seats at speeds above 90 km/h (55 mph). This happens almost every other day now, and I’m wondering if it could be related to the rough idle problem.

Each time I go to BMW for diagnostics, they tell me the car is in “perfect condition.”

Has anyone else encountered similar issues, or does anyone have any idea what might be causing this?

Here are the videos showing the rough idle:

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you in advance.

Mine has that rough idle sometimes too, though it seems less rough.

As for the vibration, get the underbody paneling checked. Mine flew off the other day and started flapping and vibrating at around 110 km/h afterward. The entire part in front of the passenger wheel was damaged and began flapping in the wind.

Thank you for your reply Fabe. I've checked the underbody paneling and it seems solid.

Update. My rough idle was caused by a faulty NOx sensor. I've replaced it and my rough idle issue is gone. Part number 13628490431.
