No cheat code. Just been experimenting. Launching in manual second gear will allow you to go up to 3,000 RPM.
M2 with DSC off right?

I will try this in my 2020 and see what happens. Skipping a gear change might shave off some time.

Here it is. Just updated to the latest programming (and cleared my coding )

Issue still exists, but at least now its on BMWs radar. Hopefully they'll come through with a fix, though it doesn't sound like it.

I said pretty much exactly what we've said here. Our V8s are performing like the 6 cylinder cars. They advertise 3.6 seconds to 60, I'm seeing 4.6, and so are others. Something isn't right.

Looks like Car & Driver gave it another try. They got 3.9 on the latest runs, so still not hitting BMW's numbers.

Okay, now we got some press coverage showing the issue and mentioning it.

The more of us that contact them, the greater our chances. I'm gonna call back on Monday and press the issue a little. In the mean time, I'll test a little this weekend. Not beating on the car, but a few launches.

It's interesting, because the 2021 BMW M550i that carwow dragged in the UK, did a 11.8 in the wet.

Tomorrow I will reach out to BMW NA with the same issue.....And as you said Mike, it'll be on thier radar.

If others with 2021 m550's will follow suit, something should happen. The worst thing we can do is stay quiet.
What's the process to reach BMW NA?

Are you using E85 mix?
it is with E30. BMW owners manual states that we can run E30.

To run e85, I believe we have to change components to our fuel system or injectors.

The part I don't understand is, people state that they're running e85 with a tune. That makes no sense to me. A tune doesn't change your fuel system or your injectors, so I'm just not sure why we read about people running e85 with the tune.
You don't need to change hardware, basically you need to change the target air fuel ratio (aka lambda) that the DME will seek to achieve, as e85 needs more fuel in the combustion reaction compared to standard fuel.

Sometimes though and especially with e85 to achieve higher power you need to strengthen fuel pump and/or injectors for the same reason, to bring more fuel to the combustion chamber. That was very true for n55 engines, less so for b58 i understand, but i don't know about n63.

Exactly. Just the tuning needs changing. The hardware is fine for E85. As the boost increases the HPFP gets iffy, but it seems to be good to at least play with E85.

Need to give a 2nd gear launch a try once the rain stops. Are we saying once you are moving, slap it over to auto from manual for the best times?

I have not tried switching it to D after launching it from M2. But i posted this before that i was able to achieve 4.0s with the M2 and manually shifting.

To confirm is this a 2021?

I tried it in my 2020 and while I didn't have DSC off, the car paused when I lifted off the brake (i.e. not as aggressive as 1st). I may not have sat on brake boost long enough though. Revs seemed to sit maybe a touch higher than 1st gear at about 2900.

He doesn't have the N63's set up for Flex fuel. No harness add-on, no firmware. Even on the N54 and N55, which does have flex fuel support, you can't really go passed E40. E85 requires a flash.

Okay guys. I had the opportunity to talk to a class action lawyer today. He's not sure we have a case. Usually class action suits are monetary. So we'd need to show monetary losses from the cars not performing as advertised. Can we do that? I mean, essentially the cars are performing at a similar level to the 540, so could we show the price differences between the M550 and the 540 as a monetary loss? Thats all I can really think of. The false advertising could technically be claimed, but its unlikely that a judge would sign of on that reason for a class. ��

In a minor breach of contract, plaintiffs are typically awarded expectation damages. This most typically is the fair market value of the goods as advertised vs the fair market value of the goods that is delivered.

Basically, if this was to go to court, the lawyers would make a ton of money and the consumer *might* get a few hundred or less back.

I don't know about anybody else, but personally, I'm not interested in money. I just want the car to do what they say it can do. It wouldn't cost them much of anything to just use the M850 or old M550 programming on the 21 M550.
