Dynamic Digital Cluster (6WB): should it change with driving mode?

My cluster stays the same through all modes, but I have seen a few video where if you have the digital cluster option, it should change with each mode. For example, sport plus should show a big MPH in the middle of the speedo and the Tach looks different as well. Eco Pro looks totally different.

These are not changing for me, but I think I checked some boxes in iDrive that forces it not to change? Am I making any sense? Sound familiar to anyone? The BMW manual used to be so much better with the older cars. It is so friggin generic one size fits all now.

EDIT: I think I found something, I must have something checked or unchecked preventing this:

Instrument cluster with enhanced
features: setting the operating mode
Concept
Depending on the equipment, the instrument
cluster can be set to three different operating
modes in addition to the driving mode.
Settings
Via iDrive:
1. "My Vehicle"
2. "iDrive settings"
3. "Displays"
4. "Instrument panel"
5. Select the desired setting.
▷ "STANDARD": all displays on the instrument
cluster are active.
Displays Controls
121
Online Edition for Part no. 01402984863 - X/17
▷ "REDUCED" all displays on the instrument
cluster are reduced to the essential.
▷ "INDIVIDUAL": all displays on the instrument
cluster are active. Individual
displays can be individually selected.
Configuring INDIVIDUAL
▷ "Driving mode display": when the driving
mode is switched into ECO PRO or
SPORT, the instrument cluster automatically
switches into the respective view.
▷ "Speed limit exceeded": if the speed recognized
by Speed Limit Info is exceeded,
the exceeded range is marked red in the
speedometer.
▷ Instrument cluster with enhanced features:
"Magnifier function": the current speed is
shown enlarged in the speedometer.

I would like the MPH to be shown in Comfort mode, the way it shows in Sports mode. I'm going to try this to see if it changes it. I took off my HUD as it bothers me when driving at times and I cant move it over to the left, only up or down

the different settings in iD (std, reduced, indiv) merely affect the non-essential CONTENT of the display (media, NAV turns, telephone, etc) and have nothing to do with the different modes. Sport should be orange with big speed/gear indicator within the dials, and Eco should be blue.

Thanks. I'm not getting the Sport and Eco characteristics you describe. I must have something set incorrectly under displays in idrive.

Assuming you are talking id6 then yes it can be configured that way , mine is set that way

Can't recall off the top of my head where it's is but look in displays or idrive menu

Personal preference obviously

Other than the obvious difference for eco pro and sport modes if you have a HUD there are some subtle changes there aswell

The 2 I recall are subtle colour change for the horizontal bar below the speed and in eco pro mode if option if selected you get an icon to indicate when to take your foot off gas as there is a corner or end of road coming up to maximise fuel economy

It might be set to individual so that the standard display shows in all modes.

Thanks everyone. I feel like an idiot. I didn't have the top box checked here. All good. I like to close out threads with the solution for other challenged people like me!

Hi

I have a similar issue , the thing is my car is G30 2022 545e lci
In country I’m in is very cold last week it was -16 I decide to use sport mode but the cluster did not change to red/orange layout there use to be like before . It’s always stays on eco/electric layout.

In my case I can’t decide to not change layout in different mods in idrive only few thing but not about layout or colours
You push sport mode you get red/orange
You push hybrid you get blue
You push eco-pro you get blue

Does anyone recognising the issue ?

This isn’t controllable via iDrive 7 (it might be with coding so if that’s the case someone will correct me on that portion of it).

With iDrive 7 cars the display will shift when in various drive modes, but you can’t disable it or change how it works.

Exactly I did some codings before and everything use work perfectly and suddenly when it was so cold this happens . I don’t know if it’s coincides or some codings issue . But if so why did that work at least one week ? I did backup but I did not solve the issue

Coding made my BimmerCode , does anyone know how to code sport mode in cluster?
