Coding my 2018 G30 M550i
So, Almaretto is going to code my M550ix this afternoon. The option I'm most excited about is the "antidazzle". I had this coded on my 2014 F10 535d, and it was great!
Dumb question, does this mean after that, Bimmercode should be "off limits"? IE, I would possibly overwrite coding on modules necessary for the "antidazzle", etc., and screw things up or need to be re-coded? And, another question, if anyone knows, are the actual Adaptive LED Headlight units on the 2018 cars any different/better than the 2014 f10's, or identical? (I would think more sophisticated/better?) Thanks for the answers. (Even if it's the obvious one, YES, put the Bimmercode away.) Tom D Last edited by thomed11; 03-09-2019 at 10:17 AM.. |

Once you have almaretto code this, you will want to drive at night just to watch the "light show". Besides being an incredible aid to night driving, it is almost unreal how the lights dim and pivot in constant reaction to road traffic at speed. I almost want to drive in another car so I can watch the light dance.

So i randomly came over a youtube video of someone showing bimmercode to code some pretty cool stuff to their BMW.
I got me new Car just about 3 weeks ago and decided to buy the Vgate iCar Pro that they were using in the video, and have the intention to buy the app as soon as i get my OBD reader. After finding this forum and checking the link posted above http://www.bimmercodeapp.com/cars/g30/ i can see that a bunch of the conding options that i want to do to may car has a restriction "This coding option requires an “UniCarScan” or “OBDLink” OBD adapter." My question now being a complete neewbie to this is does the Vgate pro count as a OBDLink? Or is that another reader so if i wanna do these options i have to buy another one? I understand i maybe should have done this research before i made my purchase, but i guess if i cant use it fully i will have to take my loss and buy another one that can do what i want to do. Best Regards |

Some clarification: The Vgate does work with the G30, it does not however now code all of the newer available options for the G30 available to be coded. The list on the website details which require the OBDLink. The Vgate can still code many popular items, but to code for the current full list, the newer unit is required.

NGHB
I've really been enjoying the NGHB. And, you are right, on the G30 it's even better than on 2014 535d. So, I'm looking at M5's, have you been coding the F90's? I assume it's about the same as coding the G30's?

Could anyone advise what needs to be coded to enable Enhanced Bluetooth (allowing second phone to make/receive calls). I've coded the 2nd_Phone option but still doesn't work.
Thanks in advance for any help. |
