When I am in the Apple Carplay mode, I have a hard time switching to other media devices such as Sirius, FM and so on. I must push the media button several times before the selection screen pops up, only then I could select, let’s say SiriusXM.

It will switch to Sirius and play but the screen still displays Apple CarPlay. If I push the media button again and select Sirius it will finally display the Sirius screen.

My car is a 2020 M550i with 7/20 operating system.

Is this normal? I wouldn’t think so.

Could someone press their media button to see if they could select another audio source, am,fm or sat. when CarPlay is running?

When I push the media switch it won’t switch to another source unless I push the button multiple times.

I think I may have a software bug.

Press menu button and then go to Media.

Another issue, for which I don't have a solution, is if you keep using your phone, for example send a message via whatsapp, media will be changed to carplay from whatever else it was on.

I switch between radio and Carplay often. I set a number to each and just press the number to switch instantly. Thant’s the best I could come up with.
Go to media hover over whichever you’d like and hold the number to set it.

I am also facing a problem with Apple carplay switching to other media devices and I don't know why. I did my best to resolve this issue but failed every time. Recently, I was looking for a site online where I can get more info or reviews on the Papersowl essay writing service and while searching for it on Google search I found your post. Also worth trying the button on the steering wheel to switch sources as that works well.

I wonder if I need a software update? I can’t switch to media devices from the steering wheel or media switch if I am running CarPlay. Other media switch perfectly.

This is the button I use. In my HUD (and I presume if not the Instrument Display) in brings up a menu that I can choose between Carplay, Radio and News.
