My lease is up end of March 2017. What are the odds this car can be delivered by then, or at least close to that?

Mine 550 is up 3/31/17 and I'm wondering the same thing!

Next future car for sure

I really like how you did the work. I think, when Bmw will unveil the next generation of the 5 series, I will pre order it for sure.

And that with iDrive main switchgear is kept to an absolute minimum.
Without resorting to a long console with false backing plates and less clutter.

That thing has "Hyundai" written all over it... very disappointing if that render is spot on.

F10 production ends October 2016. I am sure the G30 will be available well before your lease ends. Just be careful buying an early build G30. Some of us remember your disastrous early build F10.

I don't see it. Its an evolutionary cycle from the F10.

Do I think it looks good, yes, am I bored with it pretty much yes.

While I may not have been 100% crazy about the Bangle years at least they were different. I actually loved the rear of the E60, if they fixed the headlights a bit that would have been a super hot 5 series.

The designs are all starting to blend together now, that looks like a 3 or a 7 could go either way depending on size really.

MB is falling into the same trap, although at least their new designs are different. The new C coupe is hot, although I would be pissed if I was an S coupe owner because they look almost identical on the road to the untrained eye.

I dont know, I mean I like it but again the only thing that would make me move up if I had an F10 would be weight and technology, definitely not style.

Right now the 6 series, especially the Gran Coupe is the only car in the lineup that I am IN LOVE with the style.

100% agree on all your points.

In my opinion, the new design language will do some pretty serious damage to BMW if they continue with it. Sales are already dipping. Headlights uniting with front grille just doesn't work. Plus the odd, trembled headlight shapes. Something is wrong, design-wise, with most of their new cars. They ruined the X5, X6, X4, even the 7-series. I can't pick one newly released car that looks good, aside from the 2-series (which is actually not that new) and the F80 M3 (odd, since the regular F30 3-series looks quite bland).

More for the rear tail lights. It reminds me of the Genesis sedan's.

Something about the rear taillights on new BMW's just doesn't look right compared to their predecessors.

F01 7er rear > G11 7er rear
F10 5er rear > G30 5er rear
E70 X5 rear > F15 X5 rear

dress it up however you wish, if it is remotely detached from a driving experience as the 2016 535i xDrive I recently had for a loaner I wouldn't buy it with YOUR money. I hated that car and was ashamed BMW had become so generic and Lexus-like in feel, or more appropriately, lack thereof entirely.

I want to stress that my renders are what they are: just renders to give people an idea about how the car will look like, but the real thing will look much better. It's the details (not captured in the renders) that matter.

The tail lights renders are probably not the final car's real ones as they are still well camouglaged. I used the current 7 series tail lights for my render... So take it with a grain of salt...

I really hope they have a 550i in the US, not just a 550xi. If I have to go AWD, it will definitely be an S6.

I hear ya, and I think your render looks pretty good. I am sure the car will look good, but really just good, not great.

I think it's hard for BMW to change a design that has proven to be a winner... Therefore the new one is an evolution of the old!

Of course but based on the spy shots and your renders which look pretty damn good given the source, I would guess it's pretty damn accurate and follows the design trend/elements of what we can see on the 7er.

What I mean is that my renders do not capture the three dimensional effect of the rear lights. Also I'm not sure how many LED light blades there are and their position.
