MY2020 550 issue
Car was supposed to arrive at dealership over the weekend. Update from dealer saying it is still at Baltimore port. Genius tells me there is an issue with the camshaft sensor. No timetable given. Is something like this typically a major issue or concern?

I've seen other people have similar issues. Seems the BMW takes the approach of fixing warranty/recall related problems at the port rather than letting it get to the dealer - probably much cheaper for them. Anyway, much better to get the problem fixed before it gets to you.

How long did it take you to go from Scheduled for Production to Production Begins?
I have a MY2020 530e on order and I'm still in the Scheduled for Production stage. I wonder if the MY2020 530e production has started yet or if that is still pending. |

LOL, at first I thought you were being sarcastic, but I forgot they call those guys "geniuses". Kind of like at the Apple store, I guess, but with a little bit less arrogance.
Aside from the fact that it's super annoying to have your new car just inches away, I wouldn't worry about it. It shows me that they are doing a good job inspecting the car and making sure that it's all working well. Better to have it fail now then on the highway driving home from the dealer. My first BMW, a new 535i, blew a hose and wouldn't start up the morning after I bought it. I was, shall we say, perturbed.
