Two different M Performance Rear Diffusers??
So I’ve ordered my G30 and naturally started looking at the M Performance goodies. I’m looking to add a little something but not really looking at full Tokyo drift style body kits!
When asking the dealer about the rear diffuser he advised that there are two options, a smaller matte black part, and then the full carbon rear diffuser. Obviously I’ve seen the carbon one via the website and a general google image search, however does anybody have any images of the smaller one for comparison?? I’d like to go sills + rear diffuser, with maybe carbon mirrors and boot lip |

I have no idea what's he's speaking of. What options did you order your G30 with to begin with? Maybe he's referring to the M Sport rear bumper as the first step.

It’s an M Sport with the Plus Pack. I’ve been traveling through the web and found some obscure side on images of the one he is talking about but not sure how to post them
*Edit* Found another thread discussing the same (images about 3rd post down); http://g30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sho....php?t=1357408 Anybody have any more photos of the paintable / Black one? Last edited by Wardy82; 01-26-2018 at 02:55 AM.. Reason: Found another thread discussing the same topic! |

Have a look on the BMW AUC website, a lot of their cars for sale have M Performance bits and more of them have this diffuser than the carbon one.
I have seen quite a few on there with this diffuser fitted in the past, but it can be hard to see when its fitted depending on the angle and lighting when they take the pics. Its a fairly subtle addition. |

There are hundreds used/pre-reg G30's across the dealer network and you can almost guarantee that at least a couple will have the M performance rear diffuser. |

Quite possibly one of the stupidest things I’ve ever asked! I thought it was like the BMW Auckland forum or something I’m just going to go and hide in a corner or something and keep my mouth shut from now on |

Front splitter & corners: £1050 (Marshall BMW) Side sills & decals: £360 (Listers BMW) Matt black rear trim & diffuser: £440 (Marshall BMW) CF Mirror caps: £510 (Bluebell Crewe) Grilles: £125 (lloyd Carlisle) Total £2,485 I have fitted all of the above myself (I have a replica CF rear diffuser but same principal for fitting) except the mirrors, and if you are confident with DIY they are all easy except the side sill decals which were fiddly due to being vinyl. The rest are just bolts and screws. However they may be willing to do it cheaper if you don't need discount. P.S. You would need to get spoiler separate as it doesn't look like Cotswold are including it in their list. |

It was from here:
https://www.futuredesignusa.com/g30-5-series But I got hit with import tax (which I just forgot about when adding it up) of £230! and shipping to UK is $200, it ends up close to OEM after that. If I had the option to do it again, I would go OEM. Main motivation for getting this one was 1) price (but I hadn't accounted for tax) and 2) the bumper trim is gloss black whereas with OEM its just raw matte plastic and would need painting gloss black (or any colour you prefer I guess). |

Cheers. I haven't put up any pics since fitting the diffuser:
I really like the other diffuser, I'm considering getting it and selling the CF one, as CF shields signals and thus my foot wave boot opening thing is now much more temperamental and only works 20% of the time! Only learned that AFTER installing. It should look good with the bumper trim in CF - how would you do it? Wrap it? |
