Nowhere for us to drive given the coronavirus lockdown, so I thought maybe we could all use a little distraction as we (hopefully) move closer to normalcy. I'll go first.

I ordered my M550i in November and received her on February 12 just before things got crazy. Only 562 miles on her with nowhere to go.

Are you guys prohibited from driving? Most everyday I make it a point just to take a drive around to get out from the house and not let the car sit for days (Don't like for the tires to start developing flat spots.
Driving is one of the best ways to practice social distancing. And just going out for a quick drive to nowhere helps clear the mind and does good for the car too.

I envy you guys, my car is ridiculous dirty now, and can't wash it anywhere (NYC, garage is 10 minutes walking, and even during normal time can't wash there)

This photo was before washing the car and before the parks fully closed, but the Mediterranean Blue color just pops!

that certainly pops, it almost looks artificial.
Wow Wish I could wash my car but restriction in the UK mean you can only take the car out for an essential journey (go to work if you can't work from home, shopping). Washing the car is not defined as essential at this point in time. At least mine is in an underground car park, just getting dusty. it's really bothering my OCD for keeping the car clean! |

Did a 3 step paint correction while on lockdown using chemical guys products and an orbital buffer.

Paint correction is a process to remove paint imperfections such as "orange peel" etc. All cars have some level of paint flaws and depends how picky one is with the car. Paint correction removes a portion of the cars clear coat to get closer to a mirror finish but you're limited with the results if the paint underneath the clear is not buttery smooth also
As a side note, one can't achieve the best paint correction results with an orbital buffer but for someone not familiar with detailing, it's a much safer option since it's far less aggressive and doesn't require as much attention with what you're doing |

I'm a regular over on the UK F30 forum, but have a 540i Touring on order, also in Sophisto Grey, which fell victim to the factory shutdown and had been sitting in the paintshop for several weeks! If anyone has a 5er on order, you might be pleased to learn that Dingolfing restarted production on Monday, and BMW Genius confirmed that mine has moved to Pre-Assembly Start (5300 status), so things are definitely moving I'll post some pics when it finally arrives.

I collected it on the 1st March, now got 800 miles on it. Fitted OEM black grills. Opted not for the sun glass and had limo privacy film fitted in the back, looks much better. Coded a few bits and added the door projector lights I took off my previous car.
I went to the dealer to buy my wife a 2 series convertible. While in there they gave me a deal I couldn't say no to...to take my 20 month old M2 (see below) of me for the G31. The G31 530d is a quick practical car BUT it's not an M2 ..... I'm still not sure I made the right decision, I need to drive it more.
