Hello all,

any 530e owners having problmes getting their car to charge at public/pay charge stations like chargepoint? I have mostly Chargeppoint stations in my area, no matter what my car will not charge when plugged in. I'm fine when I plug in at home using the OEM level 1 charger. At first I thought it was just that some of chargers I've tried had the locking clips broke, but tried again today with intact chargepoint plugs and same error...unable to charge/blinking red light...

this is my second 530e, had a 2019 one as well...never had this problem before

***also noticed my nav map doens't even show chargepoint location like it did on my 2019 530e....what gives?

I have used only charge point chargers for public charging on my '22 530e. So far no issues.

Most of the ones I have used have been at hotels and Disney Land, so maybe they were newer charging stations?

perhaps...I've used some of these chargepoints stations with my 2019 without issuse...so maybe the CP stations need a firmware update?

Shouldn’t be a problem. I’d check the chargepoint app local dealer likely has one on their property. I’d drop it off and show it then. Let them sort it out.

With the actual charger (the unit in the car) limited to 3.7 KwH per hour, it hardly pays to charge outside the home. I had a 330e for a little more than a year and I have had my 530e for almost five years and I have never used an external pay unit (I have used the free charger in front of my local Whole Foods if it is open and that does work). But whenever I am home, I plug it in to a 240 EVSE.
