Anyone seen Rhodonite in person? Relative to silver cars, is it unique in anyway?

I ask that way because I know some love silver and some hate it. I’m really looking more for feedback on Rhodonite as a silver color than I am opinions on silver, in general.

Silver seems more interesting than white, but both seem pretty neutral to me. With a good detail and ceramic coating, I feel like silver would pop more than white.

Keep em coming! Though paint color is one of those things that you need to see in person in its natural environment to get an accurate gauge on, I've found that this is especially true of BMW's paint colors. I never realized how strong the bluish hue is in Carbon Black when the sun hits it, or how "Bluestone" looks totally grey to me until I saw these in person.

I pretty much sold myself on the color but the car that had it has had some unforeseen drawbacks upon its inspection. Which sucks, because it’s a beautiful car.

Yes you can see more of the Rhodonite (rose) color on a nice and sunny day. At night it will look just like silver.

I’m so pissed that car didn’t work out. Now I love the color and it’s not like there are a ton of them.

This would be easier if I were in love with black on black or white on black. You can find those with however many miles you want.

When they received it they found it had been misrepresented. Damage to the front bumper and had been poorly repainted on the rear trunk lid and rear bumper. Paint didn’t match and the parking sensors had been painted over. Repainted bumper is one thing but clearly something happened to have had the trunk lid repainted as well. I think it was a lease return. So guessing the lessee had something done quick and dirty just to return it and slide it by. I’m not even sure the dealer is going to fix it. They bought it from an auction and may just be sending it back.

Oh boy! Glad they revealed it to you as a potential customer. Would have been very upsetting if you purchased it and found out post-fact.

I know. It’s such a nice and rare color combo that I’m tempted to talk myself into a number I’d still pay for it, if it ends up being repaired correctly. But I know that’s a bad idea. Such a bummer.

But kudos to the salesman. Very upfront and told me immediately upon discovery.

I had to have my GT-R "Super Silver" repaired by a top notch Nissan dealer when it was clipped on the rear bumper in a parking lot. Dealer replaced the entire bumper cover(which was essentially the whole rear of the car), rather than do a bondo job. Paint was a multi-coat process to match the factory super silver. All covered by insurance and it was expensive. When done, the "repair" was invisible. Ended up hanging the rear up on my garage wall, where it made the appearance of a departing GT-R.
The point of this story is that one of these special factory paint jobs "can" be duplicated in the field, but it ain't cheap.

Seen a YouTube video of one and colour looked amazing , a sort of shiney aluminium type colour, at least that what it looks like to me

I must admit I find the whole bmw individual thing quite fasicinating and now a regret I didn’t or could go for something from them

Yeah I didn’t think I liked Skyscraper based on the configurator and pictures. Well, I didn’t dislike it. I just didn’t think it did a lot for me. But I’ve seen several in person lately and it’s a really good color.

Rhodonite and Donnington are two of the only silvers that appeal to me in photos. I feel like it’s similar to white. Different reaction in person vs in a picture.

The Ivory/Blue merino combo in the X7 is pure class. They might have it in the 8 series too.
