M550i cosmetic upgrades for $1,300.

Hi all, I purchased a 2018 M550i CPO in July with 26k miles. Not many White with black interior come on the market in the northeast, I grabbed this as soon as I could.

I wasn't a fan of the chrome/brushed aluminum accents. So I removed them all and added a few new accessories. The people on this forum have been super helpful, thought I would share for others that might be thinking the same.

- Side vents = $90 pair, BMW Genuine (were brushed aluminum)
- Front Grill = $39 (Yes, $39 - Amazon)
- Front Finishing molding = $110 pair, BMW Genuine
- Front lip = $139 - eBay, came glossy black
- Side Skirts = $139 pair, plus $200 to paint black at my local shop
- Front painted reflectors = $119 pair, IND
- Gloss black side mirror caps = $87 pair - eBay
- Tinted windows = $375

Not sure if I will replace the rims, but will decide after winter.

Looks good! I did the same with mine and also had my wheels powder coated black to keep the appearance of factory wheels.

It's a 3 piece system, but I only used the bottom piece.

Looks great on a white car. I would keep the wheels "as is", but I might be the wrong one to ask. I HATE black wheels.

Great, thanks, does it just stick on or attach with clips? Any drilling required?
thanks again

Nice. Those side skirts are a subtle improvement that I particularly like.

I used metal screws - not supplied (I think 3/4"). However, at the two corners I used a bit larger (1") for needed bite. The unit had dimples underneath to as a guide and I used a drill bit (thinner than the screw for bite) to align on the bumper. It was molded to the bumper and very good for overseas production and the low price.

Paint really wasn't an option on Chrome - no shop would attempt it.
I used Vinyl (or should I say I had a wrap shop vinyl it). Next time I would have done it myself. Avery Supreme wrapping - Gloss Black SW900-190-O LTR EZRS.
Thought about white vinyl, but wasn't confident it would match well with the paint. Wrap guy convinced me to go with Black to tie-in with the other changes (above) I was going to make

30% - initially I wasn't sure if I should have gone darker, but I have grown to really like it.

This is super clean! Any thoughts to wrap the roof black? not sure if ure willing to part with the brushed side vents and front grill, my car is black, switched the chrome to black, but i think it would look better with brushed cerium.
