XavVD It feels like the aero covers are screwed/bolted on. I can feel some sort of fixing on the back of the wheel. This leads me to believe they wouldn’t look so good if they were removed.

I've been stuck at the port for about 10 days now. Just missed the 10/24 boat, so I'm assuming I'll either be on the 10/30 or 11/3 boat.

Frankly at this point I'd rather be on the later boat as it gets here closer to December, which means I can delay to see what deals are available for December...

I'm stuck at the port too. In fact, it took so long for the car to get from the factory to the port. I'm on the east coast ... so the next boat is 10/30. Let's hope we're on it!

Yes, same with me. My car was finished 10/13. Took about 5 days to get to the port. Now I've been at the port for 7 days. Missed 2 boats already.

Now we have:
10/30 -> 11/10
11/3 -> 11/20
11/3 -> 11/25

We have to be on one of those...

Status changes to in transit a couple days after departure so if ships just departed you could still be onboard. Mine is on the Volans Leader which departed on 10/16 but MyBMW still said at port until 10/19. Hope your cars are all on the way soon!

Thanks! Volans Leader (NYK Line) is headed to the west coast. BMW typically uses Wallenius Wilhelmsen but I know they are using other lines now too. 10/30 is the next WW to the east coast. Fingers crossed.

I have a similar timeline to some of you. Production was 10/7, arrived at port 10/9 and have been there ever since. 10/30 is next ship as adman mentioned. Last ship was 10/14. I remember looking at the WW schedules earlier in the month and it looked like 2 or 3 trips to east coast were cancelled. Schedules for next month look like ships leaving every 5-6 days.

I feel that 1-2 weeks at port is average but 3,4,5 weeks at the port puts a crimp in this whole process.

I had been at the port since Oct 8th. My online tracker just updated to "in transit" this morning, confirmed with genius and I am aboard the HOEGH TRANSPORTER. ETA to Baltimore 11/5. Hope others on are on the same vessel as well.

The M550i only comes as a saloon/sedan in the UK as well, or I’d have gone for one of those myself. Having said that, the power of the 540i seems enough for me. I do wish it sounded like the M550i though!

I know how you feel with all the waiting. We originally ordered our car the day the factory closed back in March. Having this forum to stalk every day was the only thing that kept me sane.

TB is a beautiful colour. The detailer has almost finished machine polishing it, but I won’t get it back for another two days. I’m hoping for good pictures when it’s all done. He sent me this as a teaser today:

Ooof. That looks good and has me quite excited about my color choice.

I also wish we could get laser lights. Part of me really wants to buy the headlight assemblies in Germany and just see if they swap over easily here, but that's probably both illegal and not worth the effort..

That’s a real shame. I’ve only used them a couple of times so far, but I’m a big fan. I can’t comment on how much better they are than the standard ones, but I can tell you they work really well.

To be fair, us Europeans had to get something, since we get the particulate filter on our exhausts, making our cars quieter and slower than yours!

Not sure why we don't get the laser lights on the 5 series given that they are available on other models here in the US. I guess the Department of Transportation hasn't given its stamp of approval.

My hunch on laser not being available on the 5 in the US is that they probably have some supply constraints at the moment and deleted it as an option for us because, with anti-dazzle coded off, much of the benefit of them in negated.

I had it enabled on my 2018 540 with full LED and it was very cool, although a little busy with the light shifting around in a way that made me always worried others were still being blinded. No one ever flashed their lights at me, though, so it must have worked. I may have it done again on my 550.

By the way, I like the way the new headlights transition between low and high beam. There is almost a little animation to it the way it pans in between.

Did you code the anti-dazzle on your 2018 yourself, or have it done? Would be interested to hear how you did it, and if it's possible on a 2021. Might want to do the same on my incoming 2021....
