Actually the G32 GT is a pretty good car and would argue the best GT rendition of them all. Fantastic rear seat legroom and cavernous trunk.

But didn't find a steady audience with US buyers hence BMWUSA stopped importing it for MY2020. Still widely available in overseas markets though.
I can see some of its redeemable qualities but it's so... Cavernous.

What's the M multi contour seat in the M550?

I get it's an acquired taste.

Still would pick the sedan or touring over it.

That touring is quite nice. Would love to see the US market adapt

The new E Class looks way better than this. I was expecting this to have the same interior as the X5 (so that the M5 would get the same interior when I hopefully upgrade in a couple of years).

Alas, while I have no doubt the interior quality is better than Mercedes, the design is so boring. Not a single risk being taken, and I bet they've done nothing to expand the interior ambient lighting palate either.

All in all, a very conservative and dull update.

I believe you, though I cant see why they would not give it the same power as the 330. Especially the torque.

BMWUSA wants to push out and sell every US made X series truck. They have no incentive to import expensive German made tourings. And quite frankly the market for them is very tiny to justify the costs. And if they do bring one, they package it terribly and price it in between a X3 and X5. Looking at you F31 3 series wagon

I like it. Makes my 2019 M550i look outdated.

I saw a dark green color as well (similar the British racing green) that looked very sharp.

Will def consider leasing this once my lease is up in late '21.

Really hope BMW turn it around in terms of their design because the past few years have been dire.
I was thinking CIVIC lol... my current G30 will be the last bimmer i own for a while until they sort things out

You like the Volkswagen look then.

Waiting patiently for the 8th gen 5 Series to unveil in about 3 years from now.

Drive one. Surprisingly quick. After all it is a 0-60 car in 5.8-6 secs range.
Picking the 530i as the hill to die on seems like a strange choice. A current V6 Camry probably has better driving dynamics and comparable tech. I mean at least the M340i fanbois have the B58 as one leg to stand on.

No it doesn't. The current Camry V6 drives as you would expect a FWD heavy biased family sedan. May be quick on a straight line, nothing else exciting about it. Yes drove a XLE V6 2019. And did I mention how laggy and slow the 8 speed auto in the new Camry is?

And the cockpit tech sucks balls. The interior is cheaply made. Cheap plastics abound, the leather comes off the seams of the seat with light use. Thin sounding doors and sheetmetal. They charge you near $40K for the "privilege" of driving a Toyota.

Good commuter car/transportation appliance but it is no 5 Series and certainly no BMW either.

The B48 which is a B58 minus 2 cylinders is pretty quick for the vast majority of drivers. I have had this car fully loaded, 5 people and cruising down the highway at 75-80MPH is not a problem while getting back 34MPG.

And passing power is a breeze on this car.

If you are a card carrying speed demon, then stick with M550i or M5 or something else altogether.

Really a current Camry? I drive a 530xi and think it is an outstanding car and plenty fast. No current Camry can compare. Dumb statement...

Doesn't it seem like there is a trim level missing here? The 45e trim would fit perfectly to bridge the gap between 40i and M50i and would compete with the E53 AMG

I guess I just don't relate to the 5-series buyer demographic. To me a base 530i is the same as V6 Camry or similar.

Not even close. Horrible comparison.

Meanwhile, I wish BMW US would update the configurator to the 2021 5 Series. It looks like some other Countries have.

Like I said. I don't relate. If I just wanted a boring comfy car/appliance as a daily driver why spend that much money.

Bad comparison.

Go drive a Camcord and then a G30. Then we'll talk.
