Just discovered something new today - Shift Lights

I just discovered tonight that on iDrive 6, if you put the gear into manual shift mode and accelerate, yellow/red shift lights appear near the center of the tachometer as you approach red line. Never noticed this before.

For those with iDrive 7, is there a similar feature?

I know many of us on the forum are planning to get/keep one or two nice ICE cars for when the EV apocalypse hits (including myself) but the default idea (at least for me) was to get such cars with manual transmissions.

I rarely use the paddle shifters in my car but this was fun tonight. I can imagine it must be even more fun with the M cars. I'm beginning to consider also getting an auto or dct car for keeps. Having a car that can row through 7 or 8 gears with a great sounding engine might be its own great thing in a world full of EVs. Especially since EVs will likely be limited to one or two gears.

Wow, never noticed that either. It's nice when you have a car for ages and still find out something new!

I can't say I've ever noticed it on iDrive 7 but now that you've mentioned you've peaked my curiosity. I'll have to test later this evening when picking up the kid.

With MPPSK when I get there and shift, it sounds really amazing. You feel every gear change on your seat like a manual on higher speed.
