5,000 miles wear and tear on Brakes and Tires
I know this is probably going to be impossible to gauge as there are a ton of variables involved. Car is going in for service tomorrow. Plugs, Coolant, Cabin and Air Filters. The last time in was 5,000 miles (December 2022) ago and I am anticipating I may be close on front brakes and rear tires. They will be sure to tell me as you know. I have driven 5,000 miles since the measurement below were taken. They did the front tires then, so ignore that. The rear tires were at 7/32 back then. They start to hound you at 5/32's. The front brakes were at 6mm back then.
I don't drive too hard and don't beat on the brakes. Tires are Super Sport Summer non runflat. Anyone as OCD as me who did the math on their car in terms of burn rate? I believe brakes call for replacement at 3-4mm. Could I have burned 2/32's in 5,000 miles? Same for the tires, 2mm in 5,000 miles? Just tell me to pound sand if this is an impossible question or take a guess. I will know for sure tomorrow.

FWIW, my summer RFTs haven't burned 2 mm in 5000 miles. One pair is Michelin, the other is Goodyear or whatever BMW puts on at factory. Neither have burned 2 mm in 5K miles. I drive like you - gently with a little bit of "fun" here and there. 50/50 city/highway approx.

Both front tires were replaced at the dealer right after the dealer sent me the measurements I posted. That's why I said ignore the front tire reading in the OP.

Not my BMW, Joe, but my 2016 Corvette Z06. OEM Michelin Pilot Sport run flat summer tires took 20,000 miles to get down to 4-5/32nds. I measure every six months. I do not track the car--just daily driving. And I have plenty of brake pad left now at 30,000 miles. Chevy dealer said pads were in the "Yellow" zone (to make me worry) about 6 years ago. My brake guy looked at them back then and said they had another 40,000 miles left on them. --Bob

Any update? I want to give you all some updates about the work I was talking about, on which I was stuck. I have found this https://lastminutewriting.com/dissertation website. They are a writing service provider; they helped me complete my dissertation work, and now I can focus on my other work as well. If you are also at your college or school, you can get help there.

Sorry, I definitely should have reported back. Turns out all my brakes and tires were fine. The dealer did not give me measurements this time nor did they tell I was close on anything which they surely would have to get some revenue if they were close.
