F10 has a nicer navigation screen. I hate that iPad stuck out of the dash look. Looks extremely cheap. But other than that the G30 wins in every aspect. It's actually a very nice progression unlike the E90 to F30. Well done BMW.

Never liked the F10, G30 looks much better IMO. Agree with the other poster about the side blade, the one part that doesn't do it for me.

Better get used to it. As a former E92 w/Nav owner, the "cave" Navigation design is bad ergonomics, and I'd never want to go back to it.

Rear is reminds me of a jag. Podgy lights.
Still not a fan of the lights integrated into the kidneys. This might be another e60; looks good but only after it's 10 years old. Interior looks more modern, side profile is nice |

I agree that the photos are quite misleading for a fair assessment, but it will be hard to find good comparison photos until they are actually taken side-by-side.
Looking at the two cars, I am amazed at how well the F10 holds its ground considering it was introduced nearly 7 years ago in 2009. The LCI model made it more modern through details, but the overall proportions and stance is a testament to just good design. What I loved most about the F10 was the fender bulge highlight right above the rear wheels. It always gave an athletic stance that just didn't look right on the F30. The G30 carries the same formula as the F10, so no complaints here. |

Neither. I'd still take the E60 over the F10 or G30.
But if I had to pick one from these it would be the G30. |

G30 exterior definitely looks more sharp.
Interior, though, I'm not so sure. The G30 interior looks different for the sake of being different. I don't think it's really an improvement. I think the F10 nappa leather dash looks infinitely better than the fake leather dash in the G30. I like the old M-Sport steering wheel better too. |

A potential distraction from fairly evaluate the exterior design is the wheels. I never like the F10 M-Sport wheels while the G30s look great. Are they 21"? They look massive vs the F10s 19s. on the other hand, I always keep the wheels the car come with so I guess it's fair after all |

I wish the interior was different, lazy design since it looks like the 7 series designed for lux and comfort and sporty drive, or maybe time to move the 4 series to keep the sport element in, like the new 4 series not when due.

I think I like the headlights/taillights better on the F10. Never liked the lights connected to the grill thing BMW is doing across all product lines. Everything else the G30 wins though - especially the hood shut line. Glad they figured that out...

I prefer the G30 hands down. Seems like a perfectly natural progression from the F10. Can't wait to see what the M5 has in store for us!

as someone who never owned a 5 series, I have to say the new G30 is better in every aspect, the front/side doesn't look too much different (G30 is more aggressive because of headlights), but the rear is much improved! Interior is what really makes the difference, it blows away the old interior (which it needed to, Merc and Audi were beating BMW badly with interiors).

G30 wins. On absolutely everything. The F10 looks like an old fashioned pig compared. The only thing thats comparable/nice on the F10 is the interior.

My favorite example of this is the current gen Mazda 6. The same car with a new interior for 2016+. After driving a friends 2015 and a rental 2016 the visual affect of removing so much plastic from the dash is startling when you drive it around for more than an hour. I like Audi's way of doing it the best where you can still retract the screen but if it's the old way or the "ipad in dash" way i'll now be choosing the latter until something better comes along (Audi Virtual Cockpit hint hint) for comparison below 2015 mazda 6 2016 mazda 6

It is not fair comparing the G30 to the F10 now. The comparison would make sense may be two years down the road people usually get excited about new releases whether good or not. It makes more sense comparing the E39, E60 and the F10 now ... and as an F10 owner, I would say the winner is the E39. I still get excited when I see one along my way

The F10 and G30 are like two sisters. Sure they have a familial resemblance, but hands down the G30 is the tauter, sexier one where the F10 has flab in random places.
Side by side it's shocking how much more I like it.

I like the way the G30's hood meets the kidney grills. The F10 bumper always reminded me of the pre-LCI E90's where they had these weird eyebrow looking things on the hood that meet the kidney's, something that was done away with on the LCI. The F10 is still a handsome car no doubt but the G30 is more refined all around
