The Vision Future Luxury also illustrates the future outline for the 9er , 7er , 5er and 3er and when I say outline only I mean the overall shape. Not the details.
It is not wrong to suggest the 5er could have this outline.
Dynamic , modern but typical BMW.

Looks like it is true that BMW is not gonna be changing their cars much, just an evolution of a previous model which by the way in Lehman terms means same sh"t different day and cheap.
I'll give them credit for maKing changes to engines but that is slly not enough in consumer world of today.

That design is nice. Just, VERY underwhelming.

AutoBild has one of the ugliest renderings on the magazine market when it comes to BMW, so let us hope this thing is again one of theirs brainstorm sessions.
Auto Motor und Sport had years back very nice renderings; better than the thing that came out (like in the case of the 5er GT).

Anyway, back to the rendering; the front is ugly; the worst thing are those headlights that join the grill; that is so no organic (humans are made to like organic forms, not some artificial Bangle design); if you look at a simplified cat (deemed beautiful) drawing, the eyes don't finish onto nose openings. Okay? Eyes, headlights don't connect to grill-nose holes.
Is BMW capable of organic design and to leave behind the Chris bangle era? apparently not.
(the rear is nice, but the rear bumper is much too high and the trunk lid to high up-small and difficult to get into the trunk area).

Upcoming 5 Series

I like the rendering of the new design. I can only imagine on how the upcoming M5 will look like.

So will the interior in the new G30 be similar to the new G11, like the case is with the F10 and F01?

So according to Scott the 7er will closely mimick the VFL Concept's traits.
So what will be left to the 9er aside from the more refined details?

Yes the new 7er introduces the separate passenger monitor as will the next 5er.
The first Compact BMW to receive this will be the all-new 1er.

The new front end design philosophy involves L shaped headlights. As previewed on the Vision Future Luxury as shown here. The large grille will be on the X7 , X8 and 9er.

The 7er revealed with its kidney grille shows how the L shaped headlights will feature along with a large wide kidney grille. The headlights and taillights are more squared off and angular than before to fit within the new minimalist technical styling evolution.

The 5ers are similar and receive the upturned edges as featured in the render but are more angular and of course will be offered in Laser Light as an option.

I wanna know if the new 7-er and 5-er will retain the same wheelbase as the current platforms or will they decrease or increase them. Scott any info on this?

Magazines get an interview and the new design gets described, their artists make renders after the description.
As far as Autobild goes, its renderings and BMW did never go well together.
Auto Motor und Sport was for quite some time very close to BMW; however this relationship has gone to history many years back.
It has happened on few occasions in recent times that magazines outside Germany get the interview on design and/or new models before and in more depth than the German magazines. BMW is getting more internationally oriented.

That's interesting. To me, that looks like a rendering of an F10 done by someone who was still seeing E60s in his mind - just like the G rendering looks almost exactly like an F10 to me, except for the front end.

meh.

I will thank BMW though, for making my E60 still look better than the current generation of five series for another 7 years.
