520d Headlights Black Line on Full Beam????

Hi All, Anyone else got this issue, when on full beam, the centre of the lights has a black line, almost as if top light does not meet bottom light.

Its right in the middle of view, where you want it most!

My local dealer says its just normal. That's not acceptable, I've never had it on any other BMW!

Any chance you could provide a photo? Say up against a plain wall?
Which type of headlights? Icon or non icon?

Have icon and certainly not noticed anything untoward

You can see the black line in the photo now uploaded. Cast that beam forward and it becomes quite large

Agree that is quite noticeable.
Ignoring your main beam for the moment, are your dipped headlights aligned ok , just wondering if they might be too low possibly causing that gap between them and where the high beam is?
I'd expect them to be ok from the factory.
That's the only thing I can think of .
Do you feel your dipped beams are ok otherwise or don't reach far enough down the road which might be that tell tale sign that they are perhaps a bit low?

A bit of a resurrection of an old thread but did anyone ever find a solution to this? I recently bought a G30 520d and have quite a noticeable black line (or shadow) between the low and high beam when using high beam and it's really distracting. The line dances up and down the road and I can't help looking at it.

The line seems to be the gap between low and high beam, so can you adjust the height of the low beam so they connect together better and remove the shadow?
