B48 exhaust
Hello,
Did anyone with a B48 engine did something to their exhaust? I was thinking to do a resonator delete to be a little louder but I'm afraid it will drone and stuff. I know its a 4cyl and would not sound like a v8 but still, feels too quiet. Would really appreciate your advice/experience. Also if you have videos of before and after please share them Thanks in advance! Last edited by iwantotlearn; 01-09-2023 at 02:19 AM.. Reason: videos |

Hi,
Follow the steps with bimmercode and you will have better sound 😁 1. Open the exhaust flap with bimmercode app 2. Pull the 7.5A fuse on the far left side of the fuse panel in the trunk, and the flap will stay open indefinitely. 3. After the fuse is pulled, you do not need to have the OBD connector attached, or the app running, to keep the flap open. I hope you like 😉 |

Already did that but I used bimmerlink to open the flap (didn't know you can do it with bimmercode?). I'm not satisfied enough with the sound so far, don't want it to be absurdly loud but a little louder. Cheers! |

B58 sounds a lot different from the OP's B48 though!

Been wondering this exact thing since I got this car. I had a muffler delete on the 4 banger Camaro and it actually sounded pretty good. Just haven’t really found any vids online with the g30 b48 /:

I have a few curiosities Did you do all the mods at once? Did you notice any dron after resonator delete? Any CEL after catted downpipe? thanks! |

No. Exhaust took a bit to receive , everything else I did it within a month. If you just do a resonator delete without touching the stock exhaust , you won’t get any dron, but you will get some sort of dron after getting muffler delete. And unfortunately yes, after a few days, cel popped up because of the dp so I just removed it and it’s just sitting in my garage.

Is there any chance you have a video with before and after resonator delete? That's what I'm most interested in. Cheers! |

Do you have an after resonator delete? Could you please share it if so?
I will do mine after anual vechicle inspection but I'm so curious. Last edited by iwantotlearn; 02-21-2023 at 08:27 AM.. Reason: grammar |

I've a 530i B48 engine and did the resonator delete, there is no drone but the sound is not satisfying enough..
I'm thinking to put a catless downpipe in next month with a stage 2 tuning. |

Also crossed my mind that if the resonator delete doesnt rise up to expectations I will join the catless downpipe or catted downpipe. |

A catted one is not legal either, but I don’t think there will be problems passing the inspection though. |
