Thanks for the help. I am going to start with the front door tweeters and see how it goes. I just want a decent sound, so I figure I will start with the cheap and easy first, then see how it goes.

This sound reasonably. You can judge the soundstage once you have changed the front speakers (all of them including the underseat subs) and possibly the rears. If ok, you can stick with it. Adding an amp (the best with DSP) you would turn the system into a whole new level. The amp adds power, preciseness and spaciousness to the overall soundstage. To me these are worlds apart, but you should decide what is sufficient for you.

Having seen (and having changed) all the speakers, I would change the underseat subs together with front door speakers all as priority 1. They are not 20cm (8") speakers, but 16 cm poor quality paper speakers. I changed them for proper 20cm Steg subs and hey, what a difference!
