Code adaptive headlights always on.

Hi guys,

Does anyone know if you can code adaptive headlights, to come on when your headlights automatically turn on ?

While it’s not a big task to press the button on my stalk to turn them on.

I can’t think of any reason, while I wouldn’t want them on when driving in the dark, so would be handy if they just turned on automatically with my main beams.

+1 having to push a button seems really, really stupid.

I'm assuming you mean High Beam Assistant…

That's been a Remember Last Setting from the factory for a while.

I mean adaptive, ie both lights work independently, so they can bend the light around cars in front, turning off high beam on right hand side only for oncoming traffic, or moving left hand side beam upwards when road signs are detected, to give clearer reading of traffic information etc.

I don't recall seeing anything for that on ID6 in the stock (non-coded) config.
However, ID7 does remember the last used setting out of the box

This sound like Anti-Dazzle. This is usually deactivated in the US, you have to get it coded back on. Its not a simple code either, you have to enable it using a different program, then code it.

There are a few forum members here that can code it for you.

I think the OP has the coded anti-dazzle headlights and is asking if it can come ON by default. I believe the answer is no.

Yes your correct, I have a EU spec G30. Didn’t realise you didn’t have this in the US, shame as it’s the one of the best features of the 5 series, thou in fairness you do get the M550d over there .. which I would have ordered in a heart beat !!

Mad decision, as I don’t think I’ve ever seen anyone on here with a M550d, and had we had them in the UK a lot would have been sold, heck even a 540d would be highly sought after if we had them here.

No M550d in the US either.

On your original question, ADB is integral with HBA (button on the indicator stalk ). It's a remember last setting from the factory on very late build ID6 cars (I just checked one) and all ID7 cars so it may require an iStep update before it could be coded. I'll take a look through the CAFs later and advise.

I am pretty sure the answer here is no. I've read a bunch of posts on the F90 M5 as well as other G series cars. It seems this coding functionality went by the wayside with the F series cars. I'm putting the F90 in the G category.

Hi

Any update on this ?

Thanks
It may not work on all ID6 cars but you can look for:

BDC

FLA_LAST_FUNCTION_ENA

If it's there, change to aktiv.

I'll also try that on my ID6 G30. It really is quite annoying to press A button everyday Thanks for the info What is the min. i-Step version required for this option?

I can confirm that in my G20 iDrive 7 it will stay as you left it the last time. So if you left it on and never touch it again will be always on.

This is the case on SP18 cars which are the LCI MY2021+ on the G30. Prior model years with SP15 will not remember this setting after the car is turned off irrespective of iDrive version (MY2020 cars with iDrive 7 have SP15A).

iDrive 6 will not remember last setting, can't be coded. iDrive 7+ will. So on an iDrive 6 pre-lci car, you have to turn the AHB on with every start. iDrive7+ remembers last setting and activates with every start if you turned it on.

Thanks for confirming. It took me multiple 100 threads to just find out.
Any idea how to code the VLD on 2018 M5? I used Bimmercode to do it on my M6 LCI but can't find same option on my M5. Thanks in advance
