Seems to be working out fine so far, but I've only driven it once. I'm really hoping it was just the cap. If the smell comes back, I will pull the cover off and look for the "V" area stains.

Wow! It paid for a brand new cap. Must have driven the dealership into bankruptcy.

Hahahaa.........yea I'm sure the $19.97 crushed them.
Still it was a nice gesture on the Sales Mgr's part in my opinion.
It also saved me the hassle of taking the car in, and sitting in the waiting area for 2 hours.

If the problem persists, my Service Tech said they need to take the car for a few days to properly diagnose it. I can get a loaner, but those appointments are about 2 weeks out.

Tulley is a solid dealer. They have a pretty good inventory of parts too that are readily available. Made the drive there several times from Wakefield for parts for my E39 and to check out cars. They get a great allocation of new cars too from BMW.

You should not need to top off every 5000 miles. And the amount of cooolant you lost sounds abnormal. You'll need to watch this carefully to make sure any repairs necessary get done under warranty.
