Seat settings on M550i

Hi
Is there a way to program the seat settings to say setting "2" when the car is turned off and then back to "1" when its started.

I'm the only driver and it would make getting in and out of the car much more easier if the seat slides back a bit when the car is turned off and then moves back to my driving position when turned on.

On my prior 2016 330e I had the car coded for "easy entry". That is where the seat rolls all the way back when you turn off the engine and back to your preset positions when you start the engine.

I didn't try to have that done for my 2018 530e as I found the steering wheel rising gives me enough room for the infamous sit down facing out, then rotate your whole body in. And I have an arthritic hip with an evaluation appointment with a Mayo Clinic surgeon later this month.

So while I don't know if it is possible, it probably is but you may need someone who knows her way around the computer coding.

My seat moves back and the steering wheel up when I exit. Starting the car moves everything back into place. Is there a setting for this in iDrive?

I don't believe so. Did you have the car coded?

Interesting, that's exactly what I'm looking for. The steering goes up but seat does not slide back. I wonder if this was an option in the earlier cars and no longer in the 2021 models ?

I stand corrected, sorry about that. I could have sworn it slid back but I made note to verify and I was wrong. I keep my seat pretty far back, so I don't really have a need for it to do this. Steering wheel definitely goes up.

sounds like the only way to get this done is through bimmercode.

A cheap, if not elegant nor swift solution, is to save a setting for driving. Then use the manual controls to slide the seat back. After re-entering, the preset seat position should take over and move the driver back to the preset position.

I'm not sure Bimmercode can do this. If you see it in there let me know. I ran Bimmercode last weekend just to see if there was anything I wanted to tweak. I didn't see this in there. I was pleasantly surprised to see ACC shortest distance default there now. I had already had a coder do it though.

Not sure if this applies to M550i but I've seen a few videos showing that easy entry can be coded. Below is one example.
