No I was going to but found out that it will leave imprint in your ecm therefore void your warranty. I talked to my SA on Saturday I prolly do jb4 which's is a Piggyback system and it could be removed without leaving anything in your ECM if something goes wrong.

It would be backed by Carbahn it's not a bmw warranty. Something they tell you if you ask. So yes your warranty will be voided 100% by bmw and carbahn will pay if something goes wrong... well claim wait and it they decide to pay they'll pay.... this is only if they prove that Failure was caused by the tune. So if your ABS light goes on that will still be covered on the BMW warranty.

I spoke with CarBahn and their warranty only backs up the new vehicle warranty and not the extended CPO. So my car has another 4k miles left till the 50k new car warranty and another almost two years with the CPO. If I was to get the CarBahn warranty it would only be good till 50k miles. Makes no sense to pay for that warranty.

Look up a video Tunning for Dummies on YouTube. Guy from DME says that BMW can and most likely will find out if the car has any tunning done even the piggyback like JB4, which will void the warranty.

Yes, any car manufacturer is able to figure out a car is or has been tuned if they want.
With BMW they will find it back in the FASTA data stream, which is pushed to HQ. What they could use to see if things are tuned: - Abnormal topspeed - A/F ratios - Brake & speed sensor data - Flash attempts on DME (Counters) - Errors that are caused due to tuning - Gearbox history (They store quite some data points, like highest temp ever, highest rpm, topspeed) - Many other ways When will they use the data: - Warranty claims they do not trust You can hide stuff for your local dealer by flashing back to standard, clean errors in all your dme's, not leaving physical traces (up to scratches on the ECU housing, DP's, etc). Also HQ can request a physical inspection by a dealer when there are doubts. Anyway nothing new, you can hide a lot, but if they want they can find stuff to void warranty. You have to pay to play... A reason why I will tune my M550I post warranty and have them fix anything that's a bit off within the warranty. This to have a ideal state for the upcoming tuning party :-)

Did anything happen with DME? I'm stage one Evolve and ran 11.47@123 in south Fl 2019 M550.

Re-ran using their recommendations and ran 11.08@124.6. DA was 1798. 60' 1.71 Didn't get another chance to run lately, but I did get BM3 so I will eventually compare the DME Stage 2 93 octane vs Protuning Stage 2 93 vs Protuning Stage 2 E30. My butt dyno tells me the DME tune still feels the quickest. |

1st and 2nd gear auto, then 3rd and 4th around 5600-5800 rpm. I'm thinking between better tire and updated trans tune low 10.9, maybe 10.88 should be very attainable at a prepped track. High 10.97 or 10.98 on street.

Honestly, DME "feels" faster, but I haven't been able to do similar dragy runs under similar conditions, nor have I been able to dyno the car since I installed the BM3 tunes

Hey, wanted to know if you felt BM3 to be a similar option to DME as far as power. I bought BM3 but have not installed it yet. What are the power gains for BM3 anyways?
