Question Car shows "key FOB low batt"

My 530e suddenly shows "battery low in the key FOB". It should be a no-brainier so I changed the battery but even with a new battery, the car still reports low-batt. on start-up.

So I switched to the other key FOB and after two trips, the other key FOB triggers a low-batt message when I start the car.

Should the low-batt message be reset after battery exchange or what am I doing wrong?

holding the key fob next to the steering column in the area marked " hold key here" while starting the car.

Make sure you have good battery contact. Remove battery battery connection spring it up little so battery make good connection

That the only two things I recommend

I´ve found, that the fobs are sensitive to cheap batteries. Using a Duracell or other "premium" batteries usually works.

I had both of mine replaced by the dealership and they were fine straight afterwards
Don't know what battery they used
Only asked them as I couldn't work out how to open up the fob!
Both lasted just over 3 years

Thank you for your input. I'll try hold key fob next to the steering column, if it doesn't work I'll replace the batteries to Duracell or other "premium" batteries and see if this will do the trick.

It worked on my G30, F20 and Golf VII - they all kept showing an error for low battery when the batteries were replaced with cheap "supermarket batteries"

Yep, high quality Duracell batteries fixed the problem.
