M5 cluster and hud on g30

I successfully retrofitted the m5 instrument cluster and now I have the M view hud and everything is like the m5 cluster. I couldn't of done this without Vick from http://www.bimmercoder.com/ I highly recommend him if you're interested in doing this.

the drive modes don't show up in the cluster but it still on the idrive screen. I plan on retrofitting the mdrive switches they just didn't come in yet so I'm just waiting.

it cost me $850cad for a brand new cluster from eBay and coding costed $130cad

all of those are the part numbers for the cluster the reason why there is so many cause people sell used clusters with the old part number so any cluster with these part numbers are the m5 ones and also make sure you get a virginized or a brand new one. I have a 2018 550

+1 on Vic. He is the best. He knows his shit, just not on coding, but help with installation and wiring. He is also incredibly responsive, unlike a lot of other coders I have dealt with waiting days for a reply.

that is actually easier if you have a id7 g30 all you have to do it go in bimmercode and do it cause they have the same clusters but if you're talking about id6 cars you have to change the bdc to bdc_3 and the head unit to hu_mgu

if you're talking about the ID screen to the 12.3" then I saw someone do it and they have the id6 layout

Surprising upgrading or retrofitting a cluster doesn't tempt me, nor does ID7. The larger 12.3" screen definitely does though but it's complicated, not a DIY for me and a very expensive project.

in my opinion the 2018 and 19 cluster for the m5 look the best and id6 is way easier than id7 also the 12.3" screen doesn't really match the interior it looks very misplaced like a tesla

Is agree. ID6 and the screen in our cars is more than fine. I actually don't spend much time in iDrive. I use it for my settings and then I'm almost always in Apple CarPlay.

Was the M View HUD coded in or were there hardware changes made? This would be good to know if it is possible to code the HUD without any physical modifications outside of coding.

The M view is hardware it’s only possible to have it with the f90 clusters
