Anyone found ceramic brake pads? (dust mitigation)

Has anyone found a good replacement set of pads that will lower the amount of dust over time?

I've run Power Stop ceramics on both my 2018 M550 and my 2020 M550. Before that I ran them on my M4. No change in pedal feel and no dust, other than road dust. Every now and then a little squeal/squeak when braking in reverse, but never any noise while moving/braking going forward. Price is very reasonable. I'm very happy with them. Purchased them from their site, but guessing that they are also available on rockauto, etc. powerstop.com

Part # Fronts- Z 16 ceramic 16-1868
Rears- Z 16 ceramic 16-1850

Did you do the swap yourself? Is it fairly simple, couple bolts on the inner side of the calipers and then remove the OEM, apply some copper grease to the backside and then put it all back together? Any issues with brake pad wear indicators or anything like that?

bump, anyone have the process? I'm pretty sure a computer or coding is necessary to re-bed/calibrate the electronic brake. It's also kind of crazy how OEM pads would be about $500 but these are around $100.

I run Akebono pads on all of my BMW'S and are happy with them. My back is not what it used to be and I got sick of washing my car and by the time I got to my destination my wheels were dirty.

Bumping an old thread, what model pads are you running? I really need to get some new ones, should look into an upgrade cause I'm pretty sure I need rotors since they have a pretty good lip and 40'ish thousand miles.

I recently ordered a set of front/rear EBC Redstuff brake pads along with a new set of aftermarket G3500 grade casting symmetrical-curve slotted rotors for my 540i with M Sport brakes. According to EBC, these pads should increase the braking performance up to 40%.

I second the Akebono Ceramic pads. Very low dust and the little dust they do make is a very light gray colored dust. And, they last long even with "spirited" driving.

Did you see part numbers below? I run them on all of my cars. Of course I sold my 7 series but all five were equipped with Akebono and my X5's are both running them now. Hopefully Akebono will have some for the G80 when I order it.

Nah, I'm not seeing any part numbers for the akebono's in your replies.

Hard to find the EBC's in stock to ship within the next week.

The part numbers for EBC brake pads are: Front: DP32304C, and the Rear: DP32089C.

Please note that the part numbers are for vehicle optioned with "M Sport brake system". In addition, EBC did not update their database to reflect the fitment of G30 (540i) with M Sport brakes as their database indicates these are designed for 7 series.

Front: EBC DP32304C

Rear: EBC DP32089C

I think this vendor ships fairly quickly based on my experience.

The company is: Brakenetic located in Long Beach, CA. Since BMW has different variations with their brake systems, VIN must be provided to ensure proper size/fitment. In addition, these aftermarket rotor hats are not aluminum when compared to OEM rotors.

I have a 2019 M850i and I have been searching for some ceramic pads for my car, I can't find any reliable information. Does anyone know if aftermarket brake pads and rotors recommended for the M550i are compatible with a M850i?

Has anybody tried the Brembo NAO ceramic pads? They seem to be reasonably priced, and available for purchase.

I just purchased a set for the rears. I'll let you know how it goes when I get the time to install them. Having a hard time finding a set for the front.
