Sunroof/Moonroof

I know its standard on most BMWs in the NA now. In HK they still charge USD 3500 for it as an option, so I didn't order it.

My last car, 335i had it. It also an option (about 1000) and all the cars on the lot had it so I got it since I didn't want to wait 3 months to get a car without it.

When I had it I probably remembered to use it like once a month if at all. I never fully opened it, because didn't want dust in the car and always either had heating or AC on.

What is you take on the sun/moon roof?

I used to care for it, but not anymore.

Opening it up all the way lets a lot of leaves/dust into the back seat. Windows open let in a lot less.

Opening it up by pushing the button up just makes you look like a douchebag that's trying to show off the sun roof. It does absolutely nothing for air flow.

It's usually closed all the time for me.

I don't turn on the AC during fall and winter. Just try to save fuel and help the environment so I prefer to have the moon roof.

The moon roof also helps when I park outdoor. I leave a bit of gap to release the heat inside.

I always wondered why anyone every tilts it. Seems like a disaster (with rain) waiting to happen.

On most cars, both of mine at least, unless you park facing down hill, or the rain comes in at a 15 degree angle, you can leave the sunroof popped and still not get the interior wet. I still hate sunroofs, but one came standard with one, and the other didn't have enough helmet clearance if I didn't get it.

There are diverting channels for the rainwater. If you want pour some water and you'll see it coming out from rear wheel area.
Also helps a lot if you park the car in the sun. You will still burn your ass with the seats but at least you'll have air to breathe the first few minutes after you get in the car.

I try to use it as much as possible. And yes, I do pop up the sunroof but not because Im trying to show it off (a lot of cars around here have them), I just enjoy listening to the exhaust more, even when its too cold out to roll down the side windows.

When its nice and warm out, all the windows are opened completely, including the sunroof.

Never use it and it kinda ruins the lines of most cars, especially the 335 coupe.

I barely use mine, I sometimes open the cover to let more light in, but that is really it. 3,500 seems too much though imo, are cars really that expensive in HK? I thought Canada was bad.

I rarely open it. I dont like that stupid teeth bar that pops up. I dont care if it reduces noise or whatever, it looks ugly. Every time I see an e92 with it open, it makes the car look so much taller

but every time I get in a car without a sunroof, it makes the entire interior feel so closed off and uncomfortable. even if the shade is closed on it as well, can't stand that
