How many miles on your car now? Looks like they're needing to be replaced in the 30Ks.

Yep - right at 38k miles. About 10 months left on warranty.

Just given the G31 a quick clean…for the third time since last Saturday

It was lovely & clean when I dropped it off for its oil & plug change on Tuesday but when they’d finished it was left in their ‘car storage area’ which is a fenced area with just crushed type 1 on the ground (compacted crushed road stone) which is grey & dusty…well it pissed down with rain whilst it was sat there waiting for me to finish work & pick it up & rained all the way home. Well obviously I had to wash it once I got home…& gave it a polish.
Then this afternoon I took it out, nice & sunny until I had been out for 20 minutes & was on a motorway (exploring the additional front end downforce at high speed with the new splitter ) & it bloody well started raining & the G31 was all mucky again, well I couldn’t just leave all that motorway grime on it all night.

Just a ‘quick’ pressure wash, snow foam, rinse & dry tonight though

Really pleased with the splitter, makes the front end look much more…GRRR!!

And the brakes are now very good indeed, & as I found out on my way home so much better in the rain, very happy. The G31 feels more…mine now, if that makes sense.

Luv that car

Looks awesome! I’m in love with the color too. If I eventually get an M850, I’ll try as hard as possible to find Dravit because I feel like it’s a darker version of the same idea of a color.

Yes it is BIG. But in all the right ways! The 750 was an absolute boat and floats like it’s on water. This 8GC is low, wide, and glued to the ground. And I guess they all have rear steering because this thing turns on a dime. The way they designed the interior is very sporty and luxurious at the same time. Like a luxury cockpit.

I’m enjoying it but conflicted because I also want my M550 back. Looking forward to driving it for the first time after a week in the 8. Will be fun to make notes on how they drive different (aside from the power difference). I HATE having to leave my car over a weekend. They should have the expansion tank in hand on Monday. Then they’ll check the AC because I said it wasn’t blowing cold unless I put it on max. They think that’s related to the coolant leak. So hoping to have it back Tuesday. We shall see.

What I did today was push my car to the limit and found it it has more to give but can't due to it being governed. Hit top speed of 157 mph racing a CTS V.

A big car for a Big Country

Will be interested in reading your thoughts, I suspect you’ll be posting up a pic of a m850i that you’ve just bought in the not too distant

Haha we will see. I think I’ll end up needing front brakes and some tires on the M550 and that will slow me down for a bit. I’ve got warranty til Feb of next year and I’ll turn 40 next May. I think I need to chill for another year before I think about a change. Maybe I’ll get over it when I get back in the M550. I’ve got new puppy love for the 8 but the 5 is pretty great and not easily replaced. I tried to love the 3/4 and that didn’t stick. Tried the 7 and that never even took off the runway. X5 is out. Already have an X7. Want to keep a V8. The 8 may not survive the honeymoon obsession phase and the beige M550 might just live on. I’m hard to predict. Haha.

I really have a problem.

Oh, and I’m not sure the 8 series guys and gals will appreciate my wordiness and perspective the way you guys do… is it appreciation or tolerance??? Either way, me and the beige M550 fit in pretty good here. Grass isn’t always greener, they say…

What tint did you go with? Gloss black always looks good but I actually like the cerium gray.
