Hi folks,

I have 545e from late 2021. I have used the bimmerlink app to open the exhaust valve, but I dont get the desired sound out of it.

I would really like it to sound like a 540i's exhaust. Is there any quick fix to this?

So what does this exactly do? Will it make the exhaust sound louder?

And for this to help.. it requires to change the exhaust system etc out .. I hope it could be done without 🤔

I'm not sure what you want from the forum. The make the exhaust sound different with the valves already open you need to a) remove cats b) remove opf c) remove mufflers

You basically just have to start taking things out, if you don't want a new system. Mufflers, resonators, etc. When you start removing cats you will get check engine light coming on.

Have the 545e as well and also disappointed in the sound. It is an EV after all and BMW are doing their bit in reducing co2 and noise emissions.

I am just going to take the trapezoid exhaust tips off and replace with quad tips. They will look the part but more importantly they will not make your three year warranty null and void. If you are planning on keeping the car more than three years then I would wait until it has expired then go ripping that exhaust out.

You can get a custom catback exhaust made up to get more volume from it. That won't void the warranty and you won't be butchering up your stock system by cutting out sections

If all you want is sound then you can go with any of the active sound solutions out there - not sure how available are they in the US, wide range to choose from in Europe (maxhaust.com, cete-automotive.de, ...).

Have you done anything to your 545e yet? But yeah I dont know if I will keep it for more than 3 years. But would be nice to get some good sound of it

Active soundsystem? So you basically mean a speaker that makes the sound 😅

I more meant go to your local exhaust fabrication shop and get them to make. A system to suit your needs.

The Remus axle back from the 540i might fit with slight Modifications

Hey, jeg har samme problem med min 545e. Jeg har ivrigt ledt efter løsninger på problemet, men har ikke formået at finde noget brugbart, dsv. Har du fundet en løsning endnu?
