Have used cars recently increased pricing ??
I bought my M550 CPO not long ago - and I still track pricing - I swear similar cars are now selling for more - noticeably more - several thousand - have used cars recently shot up?
I have also been tracking the pricing of used certified 2018 M3's and it seems like the prices on those have gone ridiculously high.

Heard the same from a friend yesterday here in the U.K. for cars with large engines.( over here I'd say that's anything over 2 litres!)
I forecast that here in EU land that used car prices will remain higher for anything up to this year as speed limiters become law from next year on new cars and so I think people will hang on to their cars as a result. I fear for makes such as Aston, Jaguar,Bentley, Ferrari to name a few. |

Yes, they have (at least at dealerships). I'm San Diego, and I'd been on the hunt for a 2-4 year old, low-mileage subcompact SUV for about the past 2 months, and practically *every* car out that I checked out was marked up by 5%-15% with dealers not budging one inch on the pricing (that's in addition to what we expect dealers to mark up stuff anyway). Never seen anything like it. The first 2 weeks of hunting, I just chalked it up to bad luck and simply walked out the dealership until I was forced to accept the reality that this is what the market is right now. As someone who considers himself a total bargain-hunter, what I ended up settling on was probably one of the most "meh" deals on a car I've ever done. Not happy, but no choice.

Lol increasing is an understatement. I've been tracking used 540 prices since the 2019s became available and a better than average equipped lower mileage car is up around 5-7k from pre Covid pricing.

I just sold my wife's 2018 M550i for only 3k less than what we bought for last August, with 11k more miles put on the car. The dealership just listed it at around the same price as we bought. I'd say that was a really good deal, equivalent to leasing the car @ less than $300 a month.
She was really sad to see the car go but we don't need three cars in the family and it's the financially responsible decision to capitalize on this market condition now and sell one at a high price. I promised her I'll buy one back for her when the price comes down in the next two years. Between now and then she's driving my F80 while I drive the boring Audi Q7 family car, so I'm at least keeping her happy

I was able to track down my 2018 340i xdrive Msport. I turned it in end of April this year with 25k miles after 3 years. It was pristine. Saw it featured and listed at a BMW dealership in Delaware. They were asking $46K. YIKES. Yes used car prices have really gone up.

They might do the same for mine. Then jack it up when they sell it.

I have a 18' G30 540i M sport. Done a deal with my dealer back in May for a new 545e that is supposed to be delivered late September (I hope), the deal wasn't signed off on, just verbal and deposit paid.
Should I go back to my dealer and renegotiate my trade in deal seeing as 2nd hand prices are soaring?? |

Took forever to find my 2020 CPO M550 back in May, and I think I paid a little more than I wanted, but I haven't even seen one lately for sale, let alone for less.
