2021 M550i - Dark Graphite
Hello all!
Figured it was time since my car is due in any day now! What a wait! I ordered back in late October and seemingly it's flown by! I will post up delivery pictures, and plan on a little photo shoot with our media team at work She will get full PPF and paint correction! Best, Nick

Nice! Don't forget to annoy the CA to ensure no advertisement stickers or bumper drilling (unless of course you want that). Seems like a no brainer, but once they've drilled, it's too late.
Hasn't happened to me with BMW yet, has happened with other cars though. Last edited by Beerflakes; 12-28-2020 at 02:19 PM.. |

Also, wiggle, tell them not to wash or detail the car since you are going to do PPF and a ceramic coating. |

I saw some people mentioned asking the dealer to not even remove the protective films so they could do it themselves. Are any of you/have any of you done that? Is it annoying to do or obnoxious to ask for this? That's probably one additional way to make sure no one touches your car.
We are required to have front tags in Virginia. Last time I tried to put it in my window I was in highschool and haven't bothered since then. Is there any reason to not just let them drill the holes though if you plan to always have the tag on? |

When I picked it up, it had some film on the bonnet, a black plastic tray in the driver footwell, bags on all the seats and plastic on the seatbelts, stickers on the windscreen (which required a little solvent remover to clean off) and protective film on the dash displays. There was also some transport wax on the sills, which was tricky to clean off. I used a gentle tar remover and microfibre cloth. It looked like some of it had already been wiped off. The dealer told me this must have been at the port. Whoever did it left some light surface scratches in the paint, but fortunately they came out easily with the paint correction I had done. |

It's required in Missouri (where I currently live), and also in NY. I've been pulled over once in the past 15 years, both states included, for no front plate. I was given a verbal warning. I think at this point, I'm willing to pay the fine to keep her clean. Last edited by Beerflakes; 12-28-2020 at 03:23 PM.. |

@crypto I had them remove everything, but not wash the car or detail it at all. Some people like the idea of removing things, but it was not important to me. Since my car went straight from the dealer to my detailer, I did not mind it being dirty (which it was from transport) or having finger prints or anything like that. All of that was cleaned off by my detailer and it looked amazing when I picked it up.

They are very receptive. They have an M8 in their showroom that looks like it was washed with sand paper. I showed them that, and they know what I want to avoid lol

I also really like the startup sequence for the headlights.

I haven't listened to them, other than FM radio on the way home.
I'll be finding some FLAC files and building a music library. Bowers and Wilkins should sound pretty damn good!

If you have an iPhone, the carplay seems to work well with music so far. I assume a usb would be better, but I do not have a converter for the usb c in the arm rest console. Wish that was a regular USB port instead. Oh well.
