That’s crazy, especially since I have sold my car last year...
That is crazy! My dealer told me that they have no way of knowing what allocations are coming until they get them. It is sure not customer friendly.

Thats great. Congrats!

Hope mine will enter production - as scheduled - in two weeks.

I see that you have 360 cameras. Me too and this equipment is flagged as restricted. It gives me hopes that it will be fine as your car enteres production with 3D view.

The car has been stuck in "Quality Check" for 5 days now. Does that mean that it's not quite right?

Most likely. Quality check usually only takes a couple of hours.

Or BMW is late updating the report.

Yeah that happens a lot. But not usually with the quality check stage.

Something must be very wrong, as it has been 2 weeks in QC, or maybe they have hired a sloth to do the QC? A sloth must be the explanation, as they are not that fast and with those nails it would need to go back to paint several times.

Third week in quality check.

The only answer I get is it will switch in 2-3 days. I guess they would have to be right some day. Not sure I want to wait forever, thinking of pulling the plug on this one, and finding something else.

Well. At least you can rest assured you have another 3-4 week wait on the horizon, once you make it to port!

Waits have brutal the last couple months. Mine sat in port for 4 weeks before making it onto a ship. Some guys in the g80/82 forums waited as long as 40 days in Bremerhaven (unrelated to stop sale issues, of which there have also been many).

At least BMW did a good job managing the chip shortage, but hasn't been smooth sailing of late.

Well today I got this from the dealer

"I talked with BMW about your Car at the port, it is waiting for a RAM module from the supplier with no ETA."

I'm a little confused by "Car at port" as it's still in “Quality Check” at the factory.

Not sure why it took them 2.5 weeks to get an answer.

These are difficult times to buy a car. The chip shortage is impacting on all car companies. Some companies have reduced manufacturing or closed plants for a time. BMW has tried to keep building cars and cut back on certain features that require chips but still is struggling with some shortages.

The RAM issue is a common one right now.

I am very familiar with the shortages these day. A big part of my day is finding substitute for parts that are in short supply on machines we build.

It’s the lack of communication that is the problem! I’m sure back on June 18th that it was known the parts were missing. Why would you keep tell a customer “It’s all complete, done with assembly and it will progress to the next stage in a couple days.”

You are correct; there is no legitimate excuse. I think the company is just hanging onto hope that buyers will wait instead of leaving for other companies or buying used.

I would hate to be in your shoes. I would probably cancel the pre-order with this type of lack of communication!

Well it's been 5 week now, and still in quality check. I'm about ready to give up on it!

Not to make things sound worse, but my 2022 M550 was in quality check for only 2 days and at the port for 3 days. It's now intransit on the water. Something is going on with your order specific to it.

Man, I hope mine moves that fast! I'm about 3 weeks behind you and it is yet to start production. Been in "scheduled for production" for the last few weeks and BMW Genius said production is supposed to begin on Monday.

If you don't mind me asking, where did you order from? I ordered from Zeigler.

I order on 3/11 at Park Place.

Sorry, I was referring to BD550. He ordered an M550i just like me and per his own thread, his order was in exactly 3 weeks before mine.

It's now over 3 month in quality check. And still can't get a straight answer out of anyone. They say the case has be elevated two level past the geniuses, but those level do not call you back, even though they said they would call ever 5 business day. It's been over 25 business days with out a call back, and they just don't answer their extensions.
