I was about to order a 2021 when I was told that the window for the build I wanted was closed and my order would be submitted as a 2022 in a few weeks. Any ideas on how long a "few weeks" will be? Dealer's best guess was mid-June.

They can place the order once bmw opens allocations for my22 builds. First week July will begin my22.

Be sure you double check the my22 order guide as options may change.

My dealer basically told me the same thing but they don't know exactly. I had decided on 2022 a few weeks ago once I saw the long lead times for production and overseas shipment. Dealer did tell me prices are going up. Higher raw material costs and strong demand. I am hanging tight watching the news for the updated price specs.

I doubt the dealer knows MY22 MSRP yet. However they're getting you primed for paltry incentives that typically come along with July, August and September deliveries. BMWNA has little incentive to offer rebates and good financing/lease options when they're already providing customer and dealer spiffs for leftover MY21 cars.
