Hey guys, always thinking about what I can do next. I searched here for some threads on side skirts and found only a few. Wondering what your thoughts are? Have you done them? If so, which ones did you go with?

I am thinking about the RW Carbon 3D one to match my RW Carbon CS Spoiler.

https://www.********.com/bmw-g30-f90...xtensions.html

If I did this, I might consider also buying there mirror caps, fender trim covers and grill surround covers. Curious if anyone tried there covers and if they look awkward vs. just swapping them out? The mirror caps are not covers. The only issue with RW is they do not offer a CF solution for the front bumper trim, so I would have to find a solution for that which will not match the RW CF look I am sure, but it's so far down and probably won't be noticeable.

If I did the side skirt, I would wait to see how it looked with the cerium gray trim which I like. The CF side skirt may just look fine with the cerium gray accents. The wheels are basically cerium gray, so what's the difference? I am not swapping out or painting my 668M's, that's for sure.

Anyway, thoughts? Opinions? etc.

The link isnt working for me. I think your car looks great as is…the spoiler is just right.

If you're really itching to do something, I strongly suggest these.

Thanks for your perspective. I definitely would like to avoid "overdoing it" That's weird but not the first time an RW Carbon link got blocked here. There has to be a conflict of interest between paying suppliers here and RW. Screenshot:

They look nice and it would be discrete on your car….but not so much that they would go unnoticed. If fitment is good and it can be easily undone, if you ever decided to sell your car, i dont see why not. I think it would compliment the spoiler. I'm being a minimalist with my car…I love the subtle styling….total sleeper.

They make a nice subtle splash guard that I inquired about, but its only for the M5….they say it wont fit our cars. I hate the thought of sandblasting the sides of the car.

I looked at adding the skirts on my car with cerium gray accents, which I don't feel clash with the carbon fiber bits. I have a front splitter from RW Carbon on my car that is very nice quality with excellent fit. The only thing that has kept me from pulling the trigger on the skirts is the stupid high shipping cost.

It is stupid money which is why I am really thinking about it. Thanks for your input on cerium gray bits, I appreciate it. Post a picture of you splitter! I also wonder if I get the side skirts, would the look just not be complete without the splitter which is not an option for me where I live. My driveway would eat it up.

I used to think exactly like you on minimalist. This stuff gets addictive. Again, my rule of thumb is, if BMW didn't offer it, don't add it. IND has the M-Performance side skirts for $625 painted ($375 unpainted) to match the car, but I actually think I would like the CF better.

Thanks! I have the factory trunk spoiler and mirrors in carbon fiber and the RW Carbon weave is identical to the BMW OE parts.

Thanks, good to know.

Also, I did find the bumper duct trim on RW. So they do offer everything I would need for a CF transformation if I wanted to go that route, but I am thinking the cerium with look good with the CF bits. Now you have me thinking about that splitter. It looks low profile and may not scrape easily.

They do offer an option that includes an anti-scrape "kit", which is a guard that mounts under the splitter to protect the CF from getting scraped or damaged.

.
The reason why the mud guards won't fit is because it blocks the air vent.

I changed out all my trim pieces to CF utilizing both RW Carbon and Autoteknic. From far away, they look like the OEM gloss black pieces. As you get closer, the weave appears. Everyone has their opinions on CF, but at the end of the day it's your car and your money. I have not had any issues with either of those companies. RW has you sign for the product upon receipt, Autoteknic does not require signature on delivery.

Side story, FedEx Ground was delivering my RW CS Spoiler. It scheduled for delivery last Wednesday, direct signature required. I broke my girlfriends balls about not leaving the house on Wednesday to sign for it. Typical FedEx these days, delivery does not happen and status just gets changed to Thursday on Thursday. She's got a friggin all day hair appointment starting at noon. At that point I accept that the driver will be missed. At about 2:00, driver doesn't even ring the bell and leaves it on my door. I saw all of it on the Ring. Didn't even attempt to get a signature. Good for me, but FedEx is absolutely horrible these days.

Thanks for the reminder on Autoteknic, forgot about them. I will check out there side skirt offerings. The one I like from RW is $1,000. I am not sure I like it that much, but I will not put crap on the car either. I am going to stick with the cerium trim even if I do the skirts in CF.

Cheap eBay gloss black lip. Easy to install and I like that it takes the abuse instead of the bumper. Looks killer too but I am biased hahaha. Sorry for crappy pics.

That's not a bad way to think about it. Do you have a link? Did you have to drill?

Picture fixed so I could examine.

Thank Joe. I used the supplied self tappers along with 3M tape. I think most options will require using screws.

I'll also suggest maybe doing the paint matched reflectors in the front bumper.

Joe. If you decide to go CF also consider getting the bits wrapped in ppf. Side skirts / bumper trim / splitter and mirror caps are all exposed and as you know it is difficult if not impossible to repair.

Thanks for the link, there are so many god damn lips on eBay. I put dark tint film over my reflectors and I'm happy with how they came out.

Dis you use the side pieces on the lip or leave them off. Do you think the splitter could be applied and stay on with just tape? I hate the thought of making holes.

I did not use the side pieces, not a fan of that look. In my opinion it will not stay with just tape. Even if it did it won't be strong enough. Side skirts too, I doubt it will stay on well with just tape specially when you can easily kick it getting out of the car.
