my wife bought an X3 last September, equipped with Apple Car Play. the M cars had it available as well. The option, is a disappointment. it's your iPhone on the nav screen in terms of icons, but the text messages is a BIG fail as they don't display as well as the idrive does

Its just a better connection using both wifi and bluetooth together. More or less equal to a wired connection. Faster data transfer less delay (or no delay) in a wireless connection. Just an article about progress.

Progress yo! Its an advancement in technology. I have no idea what it means although I can surmise that its going to make your jams sound better and less lag for loading album art. Plus less funky stuff going on. My upcoming songs (displayed on heads up or lower display) are occasionally different from what is actually playing next when I skip.

Anyway, its good news for the future.

It's available right now through WiFi. My 330i loaner had it...This isn't breakthrough.

The G30 was the first to have it in the world.
This happend around June 2016.
Most other BMW models got it afterwards. Some are still waiting to get it.
But the first one installed was in a G30

I'm literally telling you my F30 330i had it via Wifi/BT.

Its available on all F30 now and since mid last year.

But again, the first car that had Apple Carplay via Bluetooth installed at the factory was a BMW G30 5 Series.
