Could I ask what seats they are please?
Mine are nappa / comfort, and as of yet, have not had this. (545e)
Must be highly annoying though, especially on such a new car.

I have the same issue. 2018 550i with Napa/comfort. Took it to service and they adjusted the sunroof. Nothing. Took it again and they wanted $500 to disassemble to troubleshoot. Mentioned that with the airbag explosives it is a delicate operation. Did not pursue that. My wife sat in the back seat and while driving, pulled the headrest hard down. Worked until running over a hard bump.

Def a problem.

I do have the sides pulled out slightly on the passenger side as well as mine.

Same as yours. Ivory white nappa leather.

When I'm bringing mine back to dealer I'm gonna insist on someone sitting in back to observe this. I think BMW know this problem exists but it's too much hassle for them or they are just ignoring the issue.

For me it's definitely where the headrest rods go into the top of the seat or where the rods go into the headrest itself. Unfortunately, there is nothing to tighten. I may be able to stick some sort of shim between the rods and where they insert into the head rest to see if it stops.

I didn't notice it for a while because I always had the music turned up. One day I just wanted to listen to the engine/exhaust with the windows down. I heard the rattling...then I rolled up the windows to try and isolate the issue. At first i thought it was something in the right rear passenger door. A couple days later I went around hitting various panels with my hand seeing if I could get a rattle. Nothing... A couple days later I tapped the head rest and that was the rattle. The shell of the headrest is hollow plastic which seems to resonate the sound.

I'm not going to bring it in for this because if I did, the car would probably leave with three issues that I didn't have before I brought it in, a new sunroof seal....and it still wouldn't be fixed.
