Black Gloss Mirror caps

Hey all, who makes the best fitting Gloss black mirror cap, can be M5 Look or stock. For 21 M550.

Thanks!

Yes Captain Helpful but do they actually make a gloss black replacement? I realize I could buy one and paint but there are quite a few aftermarket ones. 😀

The question was not where do I find them, the question was is there quality one? Best fitting. Factually your original answer was probably right, just get the BMW ones and have them painted gloss black but I was looking for some actual input.

Of the three posted I’ve heard mostly good things from golks who have ordered from Bimmerplug.

I ordered mine for the g05 from Autotecknic they dont seem to have just a gloss black for the g30 though.

Just ordered some CF from RW Carbon as well - doesnt help you in this battle though.

A word of warning if you decide to go with the M-style mirror caps, the extra M detail causes a lot of wind noise at hwy speeds. For a car that cruises so well and is very well insulated, it is a bit jarring if you're picky about your NVH levels. I went with the Auto Technic covers in gloss black, and although they were a quality part and looked and fit well, the wind noise was a disappointment. If you listen to any music when driving it will mask the noise. I've been told even the OEM M5's have the same issue. I might just get someone to paint my stock covers gloss black and switch back in the future.

Good info! thanks Ordered the Autotecnics, but I plan to have my gray mirror caps painted Tanzinite blue to match and put them back in.

Yes, I can confirm the noise. I actually took them off a few days ago after running them for about a year.

TBH, I find that the normal stock caps look much nicer. Car appears wider, and the look is just more cohesive with the bodylines.

Many of the M or M-look accessories for the G30 are kind of tacky, IMO. Perhaps I am getting old.

Wind noise was really annoying, bought new stock mirror caps, had em painted black and done. honestly did not love the M mirror look anyways.
