I've been stock piling some bits from Black Friday last year, for a little engine bay dress up 'project' that I've been working on.

I went with a Motorsport Blue theme...

Golden Wrench Billet Covers for:
- Oil Filler Cap
- Coolant Tank Cap
- Charge Cooler Cap
- Washer Fluid Cap (the F90 one fits the G30)

Purchased a new OEM Coolant Tank cap as I will be replacing the resevoir to the new version soon.

Downstar Dress Up Bolts and Blue Washers:
M6x20mm bolts and M8x35mm bolts

Hardrace Q0659 Engine Strut Brace

New replacement OEM left and right strut tower braces (51617416969 and 51617416970) painted to match the theme.

Lastly, I thought the exposed bit of silver on the rear top cross connection bar (as it's known as) would look out of place so I went about removing it to paint this too... this required a lot of strip down, including the air filter and a lot of trims - I mean if you're going to do something then do it properly right!? 😄

I was able to make a little popup spray booth in my garage - 2 coats of primer, 2 coats of paint and then 2 coats of matt laquer on the oem parts. Left them to dry for 36 hours or so.

I was able to put the car back together today and fit all these parts on.

Please tell me about the engine strut brace. Could you feel the difference after installation? I have always had good results with added strut braces. Was the installation straight forward? It appears to just bolt up.

I've not driven the car since the install. I'll be driving it tomorrow so I'll be sure to give my feedback. Yes, it was very straightforward. The 2 bolts each side on/next to the strut tower need to be removed. You get 2 x M10 bolts to replace 2 of the oem ones.

I recently fitted a whole host of F90 M5 parts to my car, front and rear sway bars, front and rear braces and reinforcements. With those I felt a change straight away.

Cool, I will look forward to your report! With my e9xs and M Roadster, I knew straight away the tower brace was more than worth the money.
