Not true.

you can have run flat tires but still not have the increased limiter. Its an option that need to be specifically included in the order.
BS. BMW isn't going to let a car be ordered with a 155 mph limiter and non-performance tires. That would a huge liability. WhoTF would want to go 155 mph without proper tires anyway? #AnotherNeverEndingThread
So dealer and BMW NA have submitted a ticket, since the new car from dealer came with a wheel and tire option that in their words support 186mph and they will know in a couple days if they can set limiter to 155
I hope everything works out for you - because dealers know everything! Good luck. Hopefully they have a way to do it.

You can have run flats perf tires but not limiter set to 155mph. Its not automatic... there's an option for it that must be selected its called "Increased Limiter"

Good to know! Because I haven't attempted to drive 155 mph (yet), I decided to call BMW NA and they confirmed that my vehicle has that option. For those of you wanting to find out, it's an option code in the "manufacturing" stage. It took a while for the agent to locate that level of detail, but I also saw under "Features and Options" in My BWW account. Never really looked at the standard options!

Yes
Option 840 is limits raised, the 27a(or something) takes that away lowering top speed.

We'll see what dealer will do this week.

For me, the increased limiter was automatic when I added performance go-flat tires (Michelin PSS).

The increased speed limit option was automatically selected when I selected the 20" Performance Run-Flats.

It's all based upon the limits of the tires that were shipped on the vehicle. Unfortunately for those that had all-season non-run flats, there's no way to remove the limit via coding.
BMW NA said dealer that I got car from can code or raise limiter for me. They owe me a favor so we'll see. Not the end of the world either way
Let's hope so. We all need the ability to drive 155 mph!
I too think we all should be able to do 155mph on the way to a Starbucks every morning.

It could have been my imagination but I thought I saw 145 and was still pulling.

Be careful on a high speed run as there are other cars on "a closed course" that may not have as good of tires or brake as your M550.

Enjoy the car and be safe!

My car goes beyond 263km/h but doesn't show on tacho?
On GPS i verified 285kmh, and it could go more.
V max restriction was removed by MHD (with stage 1 map).
Any ideas?
