Some of the dimmest and most insecure folks I've met belonged to fraternities and sororities. Then again, I suppose that's applicable anywhere else, but fraternities and sororities seemed to benefit more.

Well, that's true, I'm sure those who join frats/sororities don't think it sucks, otherwise, why would they be part of one? A savant meticulously playing the piano really enjoys his/her time during that moment of brilliance and likely doesn't think it sucks.

Personally no... I never understood the draw. *shrug*

The trick is to be friends with people who are, that way you can get in to all the after-hours parties. That way you don't have to pay dues/put up with all of the crap but you get 98% of the benefits.

I'm not really fond of over-stereotyping people, but my college experience pretty much reinforced about every "frat bro" stereotype I've heard

I understand why people join and what they do with their time/money is none of my business. A lot of frats were trying to get people to rush them and I was open to talking to them or hanging or whatever, but I didn't really consider myself to be "compatible" with the prevailing personality which overall did seem consistent across the frats

I'd say IN GENERAL (depending on the frat), fraternity guys are: out-going, social, good-looking (debatable, unless you're in a nerd/misfit fraternity), arrogant, hedonistic, white (at least where I went to school) misogynistic, athletic (in most cases), alcoholic, sex-crazed, homogenized dudes, dude.

I'd say IN GENERAL guys on this forum are pretty much the opposite of that!
